16 OR 17 INCH WHEELS ON ZL1000 ???

HAS ANYBODY PUT 16 OR 17 INCH WHEELS ON A ZL1000 ?? I AM THINKING LARGER WHEEL SMALLER SIDE WALL ON TIRE. ANY SUGGESTIONS????

The main issue is getting the wider tire to fit. I need to find a junker shaft housing to play around and see about notching it out for the wider Mean Streak wheel. Can probably only gain an inch or less but it might be enough.

sorry i am new at this

I do appologise.........I was having a bad day

There have been lots of discussions about different sizes of wheels and tyres. I am pretty sure that if you do a search of this forum, you will probably come up with the answers that you are looking for.

I have a 17" venom on the rear of my thou, it gives me a clearance of about quarter inch. I guese if you put a 17" rim on you may have to find a way of notching the shaft as the tyre wall may rub????

thanks guys , but the more i think about it i think i will stay with the 15 in

Been considering getting a 108.00 (ouch) vanity plate for the bike. No stealing my idea as i have it copyrighted. Does it make sense? We are limited to 6 spaces in Mn

Just bought my ZL but the previous owner had ELMIN8 on it. Looked pretty cool. I couldn't justify the cost myself.
Hey we got another poster!

Welcome colin!

where you from?

Is that 108 dollars for the plate lowlife? If it is then that doesnt seem too expensive to me if its a one off cost... or is that an annual fee? Were stuck to a standard registration number over here, Year/county/Vehicle number. An individual plate would be cool to have. In the UK there are personal plates but they can be thousands of pounds to buy the really good ones.

My parents got me mine for my birthday. But I was restricted because of the year of the bike. I managed to get a plate for the correct year with my initials on though, ACP. I've going to get another one made up that's smaller though, and I might get them to put www.zl-oa.com across the bottom of the plate.

I was gonna go with....VRDETR but here in Ma.there needs to be #s also.
ZL1200 wasn`t available,so I got ZX1200 instead.

Blag,
That is the initial purchase price, from there you pay the regular fee every year. I have considered a "collector plate" for a 1 time costs. Don't know if there is anty restrictions however.

I was looking at getting a personal plate for my 636 Ninja before I got knocked off it.

I was think of:

A636 ZXR

shown on the UK spec 2 lines as:

A636
ZXR
