Finally found a 250 eliminator

Its an 88 with 6900 miles that has had a rough life several things bent or cracked or missing, but it runs and the electrics work so i have a winter project, any one with a line on some parts let me know, cause i need several and a muffler. I would be happy with another whole bike!! My plan is to see if i can get 80mpg and run 100mph with some carb, pipe and gearing changes. Then i will start a club called 180, i know some other 250s will get 80mpg but i dont think they will run 100mph.

Is that engine the same as the 250 Ninja? My brother had one he bought brand new. I rode it a few times and wasn't able to break 55 mpg (that's probably optimistic, since the odometer might have been a bit fast), and I have to think they're more aerodynamic than the eli. Granted, it was a blast, but it seems like they burn a lot of fuel just keeping cool at 8k (or whatever they turn at 60mph). Let us know what you're doing and how it works!

250

Yes the engine is the same as a ninja 250. I weigh 160 lbs and have had this one 90 mph. I think it would have done a little over 100 indicated.Gas mileage should be in the low 70s with stock gearing. Im in the process of changing the gearing to lower the cruise rpm alot!! The stock svo series chain has been discontinued and i cant find a clip type master link. So i guess i will have to buy a new chain. The reason being i had to remove 4 links for the new sprocket. Once i get it together i will post the speed and mileage. I hope to get 80+ mpg.

Kawasaki ZX1000 Ninja/Concours ZG1000 ZL1000 Fork Brace

Sorry I can't post links, this is on ebay, if it were to fit and I got it, I'll run it over to my machinists and see how much to make a few more, i would want it milled out some to remove the unneeded metal, I would let Jim decide what could be removed and what couldn't.

Otherwise I'm stealing MOABs' this winter and going to do the same thing. If I can get some made up for a reasonable price I will let you guys know.

Looks like mine, but, I dunno....Are the front ends on the 900 and 1000 the same?!?
Someone on this site knows....
moab...

I saw that on ebay and thought that looked like yours moab! I believe the fork tubes are the same. I checked Kaw parts list, all same p/n's except the upper tree so the answer is YES, the 1k and zl9 forks are the same. Top tree and springs are the only diff.

AWRIGHT!
Did you hear that lowlife?
You are in business, if you are just looking for one to pattern, mine will be available to you this winter, so, don't spend the $ if you don't hafta!
