Zl 1000 fuel tank capacity.??????

Strange thing,the capacity of a zl1000 tank is about 18.5 litres i fill mine up when the gauge hits the red and get 100 miles until the gauge hits the red again.the thing is it only takes 11 or 12 litres to fill it up.i thought the gauge was faulty but then ran out of petrol @ 120 miles.i switched to reserve and got to a petrol station and managed to get 13 litres in the tank.has my tank shrunk or is the reserve about a 1/3 of the tanks capacity.
The bike is a 1988 zl1000 -a1 many thanks

Yes.

I'm not going to do the conversion for you but when you hit reserve you should have about 1.4 to 1.6 gallons of fuel left.

I re-fueled the zl1000 a few weeks ago 4.7 gallons,, I forgot it was on reserve the last time I rode it.
