D&D Full Exhaust System

Morning, fellow Elininator riders!
Finished up my '85 ZL900 just in time for Bike Night this Thursday. What a sweet ride. Drew a lot of comments ranging from "I've never seen one of those outside of a magazine" to "That's the cleanest 900 I've seen in a while. Is it for sale?" (No!) Kept up easily with the GSXRs and CBRs.
My question is, who has some experience with the D&D full system. How does it sound? Can you still drop the filter easily? Is cornering clearance affected very much? D&D is just on the other side of the Metroplex and I would like to support the local businesses. Any input would be appreciated!

I have not heard anything on the positive side of the D&D system. I have heard that the plating is cheap and easily flakes off. I also think that the 4 into 1 system hangs way too low under the bike. I know that you would like to support the local business but I think that you would like the Holeshot System better. You drop off like 13 pounds from the bike and gain a little ground clearance. They sound sooooo sweet as well. As you will need to install a jet kit with either setup just keep this in mind. I run the Holeshots and a Dyno Jet stage three kit with the K&N pod filters on mine. If you get the opportunity try and find a picture of an Eliminator with a D&D setup on one of the Eliminator sites on the Internet. This is all just my opinion, what I have heard and seen photos of. I have no real experience with the D&D setup and may be a bit partial to Holeshots as they look so clean and sound so nice. Hope this helps

standupboy, the sound is great. You will love it. As far as the cornering clearence goes, that is not an issue. You will drag a peg before you hit the pipes. Now the pipes do hang down further than your stock ones do. And I did once scrape mine in a parking lot on some tall speed bumps. As far as the plating goes, I don't know who told Joker that, but it's a load of BS. And if you want to see a pic there is no need to go to another site. Just check mine out right here.

Is there anyone on this site that has an idea what the ZL900 has for exact dyno numbers?I am curious because I am getting a SuperTrapp exhaust and doing a carb upgrade with pods, and ignition advance, and I am curious where I started and where I may end up...
If anyone knows, thank you in advance!
moab... :)
