ZX1000R head for a zl900

Got a question, does anyone know if a ZX1000R head and cams would be a "good" upgrade for the ZL900? (good meaning speed and power of course :D ) Seen one on Ebay, and was just curious on the performance bolted onto a ZL900.Thanks

Hey Tony, Dont think the 1000 Head will fit the 900, ZX 900 Mabey??? Dont forget that if you go to a Different Head and Cam Setup you will Loose a Lot of the Lowend and Midrange WALLOP that the Eliminators are Famous For, Later Rocky, PS TOO ICY to even get out of the Garage Here in Indiana?? :twisted:

The head is a different P/N: 11008-1177 for the Eliminator & P/N: 11008-1147 for the ZX1000R Ninja. Cams are different too P/N: 12044-1151 Intake & P/N: 12044-1152 Exhaust for the Eliminator & P/N: 12044-1112 Intake & 12046-1113 Exhaust for the ZX1000R Ninja. Hope this helps...

The ZL 900 & ZL 1000 heads are similar to the ZX1000R heads, about the only thing that'd probably be different combustion chamber or intake runner & exhaust port capacity. Coolant passage alignment could also be different. Without them side by side & cc'ing the combustion chambers & runners & some precision measuring tools you'd be best off to call Superbike Mike at: www.superbikemike.com...

I was at Sportwheels in Jordan, MN today and I found some ZLs;
I found 2 600's, they are pretty picked over but 1 has both the front and rear wheels with fork and swingarm, the other 600 has the rear wheel (both have swingarms) and part of the motor, both frame appear to be in pretty good shape.
The 900 has the rear wheel and swingarm and of course the frame, seems to be in ok shape as well.
I found the choke cable for the 900 tangled up in the frame, we shall see if it works, but if not I am only out $3.00...
...if anybody needs parts off of these bikes, check out the website for Sportwheels, I think it is the largest motorcycle junkyard in the USofA.
