I'm sure you've all seen this but in case you haven't, I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Zrx1100, a full 150cc? or so larger and I'm sure much lighter. (Let's not even mention price) Yet who is the one who pulls away? hehe.

If you look closely the Zrx's front end comes up and he either backs off or adds rear break. Did I just type that correctly..??? You're in a RACE and need to back off or add break so you don't go outta control? LOL big time.

This is why the ZL900 still kicks but after 22 yrs of age. It's looks give me the tingly feeling deep inside, (in which my dream woman who've I yet to meet probably couldn't give me lol) and I would not be overly terrified against ANY of the $15,000 bikes available on the showroom floor. Our bikes you can give full throttle thru all gears feathering the clutch till the end and you don't have to back off!!. Yes HE might beat us down the road but most roads ain't that long lol.

Hum, $15,000 bike that might be .2 seconds quicker to 60 mph? No thanks, I'll keep my money, and the looks of that other bike aren't all that. Have you noticed everytime one of them plastic bikes on the road nowadays all look the same? What is it? Gxsr, fzr, RR? I can barely tell.

There is no replacement. What we have is special boys and girls. I just hope everyone else doesn't find out or our parts bikes and parts might go up. hehe

I AGREE WITH YOU, GIMPSTER :yeahthat: i've owned many motorcycles, & ridden alot of others. some seemed insainely fast, but to truely get the power out of these bikes, the swingarms need to be extended, & or wheelie bars added, just to keep these bikes under some sorta safe control. i would like to add wheelie bars to my zl900, but i know i do not need them ! for the price they get for some of these bikes, i would gladly take all that money, & buy as many zl's i as can get my hands on !

some of you may ask why ?? it's simple i have yet to see a newer bike that has that low & long stance, from the factory ! & after all these years, & tech. advances, i have yet to see a bike that offers the all around "thrill seeking" performance of the zl !!! new bike ???? not for me !!!! i'll stick with the best ! KAWASAKI ZL ELIMINATOR !!!!! CHRIS :cool10:

Great video find Dave! That ZL didn't just beat the ZRX, he "SPANKED" it!
course, hard to see the other end of the track!

You know, I'm not sure wheelie bars are the answer. Very rarely has the front end come up on me during extreme acceleration. The real issue in my opinion would to be find optimal temperature and tire pressure so the tire doesn't spin.

I think I've had the front end come up, accidently 2 times. Once with a girlfriend on the back. Obvious error on my part lol, and of course once when I was drinking, again very stupid on my part. lol. But I was only 18 at the time. I'm now 37 and will probably only perform that stunt another 17 times before I learn lol. But never dumped lol.

I think the OTHER bikes need wheelie bars.

You know what the ZL really needs, is a larger tire for more grip (swingarm clearance) or a longer swingarm. Can you imagine an 8 foot long bike? hehe.

Dave

yeah , i know i dont need them, but i like the look ! but, i probobly wont get them ! i do not want to sacrefice my rear shocks ! CHRIS :cool10:

Yes, it's hard to see the other end of the track but let's think logically. The zrx was at least 50' behind after just a split second. How much time/distance did he have to make up? And like I said, how many roads are that long?

Green light?, that race was over before he crossed the intersection!! lol

Yea the traction. I have seen wuputt do a rolling burnout with his IRC Wildflare on the back of his zl1000 and man i can't believe how this tire hooks up. Sounds like he runs up to 7k dumps the clutch, you hear a lil bark, front end comes up almost a foot and it spins very little for 10 to 20 feet. I don't know if the compund he has with that tire is a fluke or what. I can't wait to see him try to start from a dead stop. Moab has this tire also but i don't think he does burnouts,,,MOAB?

Good launch....Sweet and according to THE MAN Dale Walker, so easy to do on the ZLs it should be illegal....Wait....It is...
moab...

I personally dig all bikes - new and old.

I'm not looking for a stable of the same exact bikes, I'm looking for each bike to do something different. Right now I've got a '93 CBR600 for handling the twisties, a '94 Magna 750 as the old reliable/daily rider & the ZL1000 because I think the bike is really cool and has insane amount of power.

I'd love to add a ZRX 1100 or 1200 to my stable one day. The bike rips hard in a straight line and can actually turn in a corner. Looking at current ZRX prices, they're in the $3500-4500 range, so they're still pretty affordable - which is a big plus in my book

When it comes to racing, motorcycles especially, the driver plays a huge part in the outcome of a race. In that video, the ZRX rider clearly lets out of the throttle once the front wheel comes up, right up until then, both bikes are even.

I LOVE my ZL1000 - it's an awesome, awesome bike! I'm just saying that the ZRX1100 is a pretty good bike too. (Along with the FZ1, the Z1000, mebbe an old 80's Goldwing, I'd like to try my hand at building a chopper... KZ1000 powered probably, I think I'd like a cafe racer too... ;) )

Oh, don't get me wrong here Beez, I also love the looks of the Zrx. I love the retro yet modern looks and if I had the cash would also love to own of them. I just liked the video because my favorite bike smoked another favorite of mine.

I also do like the ZL1000, but for some reason it just doesn't capture me as much as the 900.

Now, if I could only find a video of a ZL smokin' a vmax. I know they're out there, but I guess it's hard to find because most video cameras don't come with super super duper wide angle lenses hehe.

Thats how i used to smoke all my buddies with the crotch rockets. On the zl i can wail it off the line and get the hole shot every time. their bikes will stand up if they did that. They can run me down but in a quarter mile not enough time to win.
