Like a lot of people here, my seat was showing serious signs of aging. For being 25 years old, it looked to be in fair condition but after years of sun, washes and countless hours of cheek time, the vinyl had become stiff and the texture had been worn smooth. It was starting to affect confidence levels when riding due to not being able to keep from sliding around during cornering. I had a site bookmarked for some time, http://www.sargentcycle.com/, and decided I would give them a go. They have pretty good size list of models that they make DIY covers for and the ZL900 was one of the (no ZL1k). I gave them a call and for $60 plus shipping, my new cover arrived in about 8 days. The original foam on my seat was still in fair shape. Using a hair dryer and a heavy duty staple gun, here are the end results:
Feels 100% better. No piping in the seams which I didn't care for anyway, and the center section is this carbon fiber type pattern which I think looks pretty decent. I've had it installed for about 3 weeks now and I can't say enough about it. Back to feeling comfortable on long rides and no more sliding around. Best $60 I ever spent on the bike.

, Walter, aka kawboy, was out in this neck of the woods for some training at Fluke Manufacturing. He gave me a call and we met up for a few beers and grub at a local brew house. A nicer more laid back guy you will never meet.
