ZRX Eliminator Gauges

:hello: Very easy to do. Just follow the picture diagram & or read the instructions. It has 3 wires. One power, one for ground & one for rpm pic up. I shortened & hooked up the power wire in the head light bucket. The RPM pic up wire lead can be hooked up one of 2 ways. First & most accurate is to connect it to one of the coils on the hot side or wrap the pig tail around # 1 spark plug wire. It comes with both connectors. Not sure it the pig tail will work on stick coils. It has a maximum range of 15,000 RPMs. It can be programmed for 1 to 12 cyn motors. It takes about an hour or 2 to do from the time you take the tank & seat off to buttoning everything back up. The wires are @ 5 ft long. You can also shorten the ground wire. I wrapped the RPM pic up wire neatly & zip tied it to the frame under the fuel tank so that it is hidden. The other 2 wires I ran along the wiring harness to the locations mentioned earlier. It also has a clock that reads in Military time. It also has a watch battery for the clock.

:hello: For power I tied the wire into one of the front turn signal running lights. It says in the instructions to connect the power wire to the key switch but I found it easier to use the turn signal.

I really prefer analog tachs over digital. Do any aftermarket analogs hookup like your digital?

I did check those out but heard too many bad reports on them. Really like to at least get a digital Tach that isn't a major ordeal to hook up.

The only thing that was on the bike was a small Garmin GPS for speed, nothing else which died. Figure I'll get another GPS for speed and get that tach.

He said he didn't need it. It has a Dyna two stage RPM launch unit on it and an air shifter so I would have thought a Tach would be helpful. I just relocated the foot pegs to more of a stock position. This enabled me to be able to flip the shifter back over so its back to the normal shift pattern. Also, there was no horn so I added that also. Still no turn signals as of yet.

I would really like to have the stock gauges on. What would be involved to make them work on my bike?

:hello: The stock speedo & tach bucket has only one mounting point on each. You would be able to fabricate a mounting bracket to house both. It all depends on your upper triple tree set up. Do you have any pics of it. How much room is between the fork tubes/triple tree & the 2 head lights.

I'll have to take some pics but that's not even my main question. What needs to be done to make them work being that I have a ZRX1200 motor and a ZX-9R front end?

:hello: The tach is electric & your motor/wiring harness should have a connector to hook up. You may have to modify the wiring harness. The speedo is cable operated. Does your front rim have a speedo gear hook up so that a speedo cable can be screwed to it. I have a spare tach & tack bucket in my shead when it quits raining I will dig it out & post some pics of it.

:hello: Here is some pics of a stock ZL 1000 tach. It has 6 wires yellow, brown, violet, red/blue, black/white & blue/red. The tach bucket bolts to the upper triple tree. The bracket holds the stock head light bucket & stock turn signal.

The 900 and 1000 gauges are the same right? So I would need to find the speedo gear for the axle and hope its fits to get the speedo to work. The bike is at my buddies house right now. He was relocating the foot pegs for me back to a more stock position and installing a horn. Didn't have that either. Should be picking it up Saturday.

Minor differences in the gauge faces, but mechanically and electrically the same.
