OIL and TEMP Light

I am wondering if this is normal on a ZL900
First thing of the day I turn my key to ON position
The OIL and TEMP light come on. The headlight does not. If in Neutral, the Neutral light comes on
I start the bike and the OIL and TEMP Light go off. The headlight turns on.
All normal so far I think.
After I ride for a hour or so, stop the bike, have lunch or a beer
I turn the key to the ON position.
The OIL and TEMP lights do not come on. Headlight does not come on. If in neutral the neutral light does come on.
When I start bike the OIL and TEMP stay off and the headlight comes on
This is not normal I think. (the OIL and TEMP light off when key in ON position)
If I let the bike cool completely, the OIL and TEMP light do come on when the Key is in the ON position with Bike off.
The OIL and TEMP light seem to function normally as I did have an unrelated Temp issue and it warned me properly.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior or discovered something to fix it?
My Bike has done this for the last 3 years even though it runs perfectly.

I'd check this for you but my ZL 10 is torn down at the moment and won't get back to it until after XMAS.

You are correct in your thinking, it is not normal for your oil and temp lights to not come on when the bike is warm. All the other items you listed are good.

Thanks for confirming, I thought so.
Now I'm hoping someone has suggestions on where to look.

I've never seen this problem. First I'd check the fuse box connectors. Unplug the connector and clean up both the male and female pins. Also check for recessed pins. Put dielectric grease on the pins before plugging the connectors together. Next check the instrument clusters bulbs for rust and to see if they have a bad connection. Some times the sockets springs get weak or wollowed out. Those 2 circuits are connected but I'm not sure where to suggest you start. I might try the oil pressure switch or at least the connection to it.
