1985 ZL900 Registry

Hi. New here to this site. I just bought elimifreak's yellow 85 zl900 on Saturday in Oklahoma City. Real nice guy. I also own an 07 Hayabusa. My wife hates riding on the back of the busa, so I bought this instead of a goldwing, and told her it would be comfy to ride on. As soon as I get time I'll post some pics. Seems like a great forum. I can't wait to learn more about the bike.

Um....have you taken a look at that rear seat? You should run for president if she saw the bike and said that she would like to go 2 up....hehehehe. You'll have alot of fun with your bike....it just begs to drag race.

Last 4 of vin is 3282. Thanks for the welcomes guys. Luckily she is small, so her ass fits on the seat ok. She likes the fact that she can sit up straight and not lean forward like the busa. She would like to have a taller sissy bar though.

Another old newb here. :hello:

Last four: 0846

4346 miles (According to the odometer. I don't belive it though.)

Engine runs, forks leak and need right foot peg bracket before road testing. Previous owner highsided.

Hey guys,
I bought a 1985 Red Eliminator ZL900.
I'm a 2nd time owner of the ZL900 - I had my first one in 1991, by 1992 I trashed it and almost killed my self.

It had 17767 miles on it when I bought it 2 months ago (I put on about 300 more since), but I don't think they're original (numbers on the tacomether are not all lined up properly).
Anyway, I paid $ 2,200.00 for it, bought it from a cop from Savannah, Ga.
It looks great. I replaced the thermostat and gave it a tuneup (oil, oil filter, spark plugs and K & N air filter).
I'm having a few issues with the fuel petcock but one of these days I'll take it apart and fix it.
I own a 2007 GSXR 750 track bike and another Kawasaki .. (2000 ZX12R), but this one is special.
Vin numer is JKAZL2A1_ _ _ _ _2561.

I've attached a few pics ...

Hello from the North West of England, (20 miles from Manchester)
Just picked (after a 410 mile round trip) a ZL900.
Customised, 4into1, Lime Green, imported to the Uk in 1994 with 12,000 miles, used until 1997 then garaged until last year, now has just over 19,000 miles.
Needs carbs setting up, Dyno, Better clocks, indicators (blinkers) but generally keeping it a tidy Rat bike. Might go balls out on a tank conversion.
VIN *********FB502580

Do you also have a picture of the complete bike? Here in Holland we had a few zl900's with the same green colours, from which country was it imported?
Succes in restoring, Rick.

Hi.
I was just uploading another photo when my battery died.

Sorry the photos are not great, they were the advertising photos from the seller.
It was imported from the USA to Plymouth / England.

I have a ZL with vin 001919 that I am parting out, though I am expecting a title in the mail any day so you may see that vin again. Though it appears to have been repainted, it looks to have been originally a red bike.

Got it running somewhat, and sold it whole, guy picked it up last night. Not mine anymore :)

0793 bone stock 53100 on clock in Louisiana. Its also one of the faster red ones.
