Advice on moving my hillside

Moved some sand around today. Made a spot for my 12'x20' shed and used the dirt to fill in a low spot.

Moved more sand around today and went down another six inches for the sheds base. Using concrete pyramid pads, 4x4s, 2x4s and 2x10s all pressure treated. It was all given to me by a few friends. The shed installers use concrete block to put the shed on which I don't trust.

I piled brush and trees a few weeks back with the Deere. I burned it all last night from 7 PM until Midnight. It's to hot to do it during the day. It's been in the mid 80s. I was back at it at 6 AM this morning. I had a bunch of dirt that was under the brush pile to move. To move it I first I used the Deere's front bucket then the box blade. Also I did some more leveling with the box blade by pulling more dirt from the front to the back of my yard. . My shed is delayed until the first of April. I have a few more problems with the John Deere. I put a new PTO switch on it then found out the shaft that a bush hog attaches to is bent. I guess that's why the Deere was free. Also the power steering cyn is leaking.

The big 250hr maintenance:
Air filter
Oil/filter
Hydro/filter and clean a screen
2 fuel filters
Rad fluid
Grease everything (again...every 10hrs)
Check tire pressure

Won't catch me complaining about oil price for the bike. 5 gal of hydro is $115, probably a $240 service. At least I can save on dealer labor rates by doing it myself.

I replaced the Deere's power stearing cyn, replaced all it's grease fittings, degreased everything, new air filter and changed the oil and filter. The coolant looks new. I did check it's strength using my gizmo with the little balls in it. They all floated to the top of the sight window. I spent another $400. Some how I poked a hole in one of the new front tires side walls. I plugged it

Time for a french drain across the back of the house and am having trouble coming up with a fitting to go from 4" corrugated to my 4" sch 80 black PVC. I have a sanitary tee that I plan on installing into the vertical leg of the downspout piping. Is a fernco the only way to join those?

The fittings I saw at HD looked to only work with basins or maybe the thin wall PVC. They were at least 1/4" off on the dia when looking at the tee and pipe?

Any links or just confirmation that the fernco is the way to go? Things get expensive quick.

Post up some pics of the 2 different pipes that you are joining together. Is it a stright connection or a 90* connection.

The tee will be installed in my vertical clean out pipe for my downspout run.

The regular guy in plumbing wasn't there and I had a kid that didn't know the first two rules of plumbing. Usually at my HD there is a really knowledgeable plumbing guy, the electrical dept guy knows his stuff too.

The Lowes that is near me is the same way. Only one guy in the Electrical Dept and the Plumbing Dept that knows what they are doing. The rest is useless. It's like that in the whole store. A few weeks ago I went to our Home Depot. I had a big order to do. $3,000. They sent all the guys home that worked the Pro Desk because one of them came down with the cone head virus. So I was on my own. The people on the floor was of no help. I spent 7 hours gathering up all my supplies. After check out three guys helped me load my truck and trailer. I had to tell them how to do it. They kept telling me that I would have to make 2 trips. I proved them wrong.

Possibly look at distribution box as the interface point. Fernco style likes a rigid pipe. I have made inner shelve for connecting corrugated pipe, to rubber sleeve connector. D-box will allow for a place to see whether or not you are flowing, or backed up in run. Just a thought.

RJ, are you going to place a rodent barrier under the floor joists? When I did mine, insulated then screwed sheet metal under the joists. First building I never had mice...etc. Are they building on your site?

Are you talking about my sheds base/platform. The shed has its own joists which are 2"x 6"x 12' 16" on center and are pressure treated. The flooring is 3/4" pressure treated plywood. I am going to put a skirt around the bottom of the sheds outer edge using concrete board. Also I'm pooring a concrete slap at the front (20'x 8 ') and the two sides of the shed so I don't see critters being a problem. I had none with my other two sheds. Ditched the BX. Had to go back and make a deeper french drain ditch. Stuck her good this time LOL. Time to get the hydraulic muscle to inch her out.

That looks touchy. Just don't let it roll on top of you. When I get stuck with my DEERE I lower the bucket down to get the front tires off the ground then put 2"x 8"x 6 ft planks under the front tires then lower the tires back to the ground. Then back up very slowly.

Have you gotten it out yet?
I have had to place loader bucket curled in towards axel, push down into grade, extend hoe with teeth in grade, then use both buckets to push/pull tractor backwards. Loader bucket defiantly needs to be on grade. Block and tackle with big wench? Be Careful friend. Maybe a Big Excavator to the. Rescue. Bugger All.

I unstuck it that day, thanks for asking. I was comfortable because it tilted into the hill when it slipped into the ditch. Used the outrigger and hoe to get it level then brought down the loader bucket curled up, pulled up the outrigger and creeped forward using the rear locker while pushing with the hoe. The mud is wet clay and would stick in my bucket then I would need to clean it out with my prybar every time I crept forward. Life experience.
