Hello all, still new around here :-)
I am gonna drive from San Jose CA to Oklahoma on an epic "bring my new to me 85 zl900 home voyage" in early june. I am trying to find a set of crash bars/hwy pegs. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

:hello: I had a set given to me then I turned around & gave them to another member. The ones on my bike are the rear case/crash bars from a 1800 Gold Wing. They bolt up easily. I did have to make the mounting bolt holes a 1/8 larger for the eng bolts on the ZL. I also had to put spacers behind the top mounting bolt & get longer ones. They are wider than the ones that was made for the ZLs but they do not scrap while riding. What I like about them is when I forget to put down my kick stand or just fall over while sitting still the bike never touches the ground. I call them my out riggers. :laughing7:

:hello: I'm not sure of the year. I bought them in 2010 from Jack Cycle Salvage in Sanford FL for $25. He told me they was from a Honda 1800 Gold wing. They was not on a bike at the time. They mount under the bottom of a Wings trunks.

Any chance you could get a pic of how they mount to your bike?

:hello: Pic # 2 in post # 4 shows how they mount up. They bolt up on each side at the 2 front motor mount bolts. When I get a chance I'll take close up pics of the spacers. After further review these are the rear crash/case guards from a 1500 Goldwing. Look at the pic they are located under the front side of the saddle bags just above the mufflers. Here is a 2000 Wing parts diagram of the engine guard assy. The rear guards are # 34 & 35. http://www.shspowersports.com/fiche...=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=2000&fveh=132040 Ebay has one for $20 http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-Honda-Go...Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6eaace42&vxp=mtr Looks like it might clean up. This seller has both. He has more than one set. 88 to 2000 are all the same. http://www.motosport.com/cruiser/oem-parts/84130-MN5-000

:hello: No problem. Glad I could help. They are great with highway pegs mounted to them. Also you can rest the back of your caffs & stretch you legs straight out. Once you get them hold them up to the engine mounting bolts on each side. On the top one you will need about a 3/8" spacer to make them level. You will need longer bolts. When taking the bolts out do only the top one first on each side that way the plate on the back side will not fall out. It is tricky to get back in if you remove both bolts at the same time.

:hello: I just took these pics. Bad lighting but they will do.

:hello: Glad you worked it out. For bolt replacement I bought SS about 1/4" longer ones for the bottom & 3/8" longer for the top ones. I used 5 or 6 SS flat washers for spacers on the top 2 bolts. I do have 2 aluminum spacers that I will install at another time.

Can you tell me what size the tubes are? I am gonna get some pegs and wondering what size.
It is difficult getting all this together when I am in OK. And the bike is in CA
Thanks again
