so tonight i'm gonna put a pingel fuel tap on the zl. a couple of weeks ago i had a freak fuel leak, there was gas all over the floor of the garage and the stock tap was all wet. luckily it was an external leak and it didn't fill the oil with gas.(i had just changed the oil the day before) is there anything that i should look for when doing this little project.... anything to watch out for? any input is apreciated thanks:notworthy:

Hey Gary!
I actually just put a Pingel on yesterday!! Easy as pie, No problems, just follow the instructions. The instructions are spot on!!!!

I didn't have to Grind very much. The pick up tube is smaller than the gasket.

Very easy!

One thing I can add to the install is if you have some small magnets to lay around the opening this will help catch the metal shavings and maybe prevent you from having to rinse the tank out after filing for the hole. I did this with the magnets and it helped a lot.

That's a good link, jarney. I had forgotten about that.

Tech piece, maybe?

Good tip from furchin also.

when i emptied the tank the gas came out all black and grubby so this weekend i have to clean the tank. i got some POR15 tank cleaner and sealer kit today. thanks for the tech tips!!
