I think the black isos will go good with the ZL personality. Cant wait to get em on there.

Your left side bar might be a little "small", I usually compensate with some black tape to give it a little extra diameter, the throttle side usually fits right on. Just be careful with the glue, it makes a mess if you use to much! If the glue that comes with them is dried up, any super glue will suffice, but don't use too much. I also make sure and grab the entire grip, like you are holding it when you are riding, and twist and turn it as you put it on, to make sure the rubber pieces don't come out of their little holes. That can be a headache too. Shouldn't be too big a deal!!!!

i was thinking that the throttle grip would have the sleeve to hook the cables on, however, the ones i bought are universal and i assume slide on the plastic sleeve under the old grips? how do i losen the old grip without messing up my throttle sleeve? sorry, first time ever doing grips myself.

Got me, never tried to get one off the throttle tube. Should be able to slice it open with a razor knife and peel it off.

they have a chrome and black set that i have on my shadow, figured black ones would be sweet on the zl

If you do not want to save your old grips you can do as Mark said, just slice them off. I have always injected a solution into mine to dissolve the glue if I wanted to save them. You can use a Hypo needle or something like that to inject with. On another note if you want to remove them at some time do not use the glue that comes with the grips. I suggest hair spray as it won't hold nearly as tight and make removal easier at a later date.

I knew you would ask that question. As I have a small golf club repair business I use what is called grip solvent for installing new golf grips or removing good ones if the customer wants to save the grip. I am sure you can use any type of solution that dissolves glue and get the same results. If you want to go out on a limb go to your local Dicck's Sporting goods store or find a local golf shop and purchase some grip solvent. Just don't use Acetone or the equivalent as it may ruin the throttle side sleeve. Heck I imagine you could use WD-40, PB Blaster or any of these solvents/lubricants to loosen the glue.

Yeah I got these ones on my ZL900 and they look sweet. I don't remember having any issues with fitting them...It was more of a PITA slicing and peeling the old ones off than installing these.

Anybody know if Kuryakyn has a throttle lock accessory? I have the throttle boss to help my wrist but on long hauls a lock would be better...I can rest my clutch hand all day but the other one needs a break sometimes.

Also do those handlebar snakes that go inside really help reduce vibes?

Yeah that looks like it would work, but I thought of all manufactures Kuryakyn would have one that installed with their own grips all streamline like.

Yeah that is what I want, but wish I could keep the throttle Boss. They won't work together.

Ahh I see how it works now. Hmmm not a bad idea, but does it affected grabbing the brake handle in emergency situations?
Also does it slip enough to shut down the throttle quickly? What size did you order 7/8 or 1"?

MUDD who you kidding (long hauls HAAH ) you own a 900 whats a long haul???? gas station to gas station? thats my long hauls bad enuff i need a map and have to find the rout with the most gas stations on it!!! But i love my bike!!!
