Oil and antifreeze... DX

Ok so I have priced out the cost for the Cylinder O rings.. Apparently I need 8 of the larger (79.5mm) rings which cost about $6 a piece and 4 of the smaller (78mm) rings which cost nearly $13

Lol thats exactly $100... Much better than buying a new engine on ebay:

I guess I will order these rings and see if that solves it.. Though I will be very sad if I throw another hundred bucks towards rings if I should actually be boring it out or having it machined etc..

Anyone know the best place to order OEM parts? I use CheapCycleParts.com , RonAyers.com , and midwestactioncycle.com

I am hoping there is a kit or something that will make it a bit more affordable.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Get up with Bachus @ http://www.mcmcycleparts.com.....visit his website and tell him your a member here and you'll qualify for a discount. If he can't get them for you , I use powersportsplus...they take forever sometimes but they have good prices and oem parts, but I would try Bachus, I'm sure he can get you anything....Glad your holding onto your bike...You'll will get the issue resolved.

If I read things correctly you have a spare motor for parts? If its the same size and the pistons and rings are within spec you can simply use that cyl and pistons. Save the 100 bucks and just buy the needed gasgets.

Paul, would a complete/overhaul gasket set have those in them? At $100, might as well get the whole kit...

First, I agree about keeping the bike, mine belonged to my brother and I almost let it go from his estate since my spouse (at that time) wouldn't let me have it. And if God forbids, something happens to me, the title is already made up to go to my son.

Now back to the problem, I just rented a cooling pressure tester from Advance Auto parts last month to find a leak on a Blazer. Took longer finding the correct adapter that it did to produce the leak. They just charge your CC until you bring it back, so within 1/2 found the lower intake gasket leaking, very common problem but wanted to confirm. So that is one path, but after all the engine work you did, I'm suspecting water pump as well. It has a couple of o-rings that separate the anti-freeze and oil. Normally when it fails you end up with anti-freeze dripping out the weep-hole. One of the members here might have the parts you need to rebuild it.

Don't give up and most of us here have a sentimental attachment to our bikes as well and will work with you to solve your issues.
