20260324_180345.jpg 20260324_180334.jpg I'm going to try one more time then I swear I'm going to ghost ride it over the hill and into the creek!

Clutch safety switch appeared ok when I took it apart but it only works with a jumper.

She bogs like it's running out fuel when cruising speed (no load) but takes the throttle pretty good through the revs.

Im going to check valve adjustment (again)
Pull the carbs apart (again)
Check continuity of my clutch wires
Check the ohms of the COP setup (maybe one is giving up the ghost)

What would you do first and what am I missing?

My vote for first item is carbs/float levels

Good call, I will break out the clear tubing and long screwdriver before I take the tank off.

Pop the tank open first, if it still does it go for the float level.

It runs like crap when cruising, the venting is fine if that's what you're thinking wuputt.

What in tarnation! Pics from #4 to #1.
4 A tad high, 3 on the money, 2had to tap the line to get it to rise halfway up the bowl, 1 wasnt coming up the bowl.

#1 running the hose out left side, no tapping the line, way low, like level is at bottom of bowlo_O
Same as #2 before tapping the hose.

How can it be off this much?

:hello: That's a good idea, because the aftermarket seat cover is black. It don't have that purplish tint to it. I bought a seat cover from ebay. They stated that it was OEM. It came in a bag saying it was OEM but it was not OEM.

Houston, we have a problem 20260328_120109.jpg

4 holes and 3 doohickies that go into the main jet before the atomizer tube screws in. :icon_scratch: I guess it's important to keep parts organized. Im betting that little part missing will make this set of carbs run like crap.

Anyone have a rack that they use as parts?

:hello: Did you try WICKED ZL 900. He has not been on the Fourm in a long time. Maybe MARKUS in KY. He also has not chimed in since the new owners took over.

I sent a message to wicked.
I see a seat on ebay in the UK, it is brass tho which seems weird. Hopefully someone here has a parts rack laying around. I can't believe that seat is missing.

:hello: Looks to big to get sucked into a cyn. Who is the member that lives in Ocala FL. He has some old Kawasaki 750 triples and a ZL 1200. He owns a motorcycle shop. He may have carb parts.

Is it the same between the 900 and 1000? If so, I’m sure I can get you some when I get home. It just won’t be until the end of April though.

Needle jet is supposed to be here tomorrow, I bought new since I didn't really trust ebays offerings.20260404_103611.jpg

Went over the float levels again and made some small tweaks. Using 35/135 with a single washer under the needle.

Weather getting hot, only 1 ride on my KTM this season. Time to cut the grass.

:hello: I had that same gauge. A neighbor barrowed it. He moved and I never got it back. :pain10:. I cut my grass for the first time this year along with a drift of leaves. I had my ZL 10 carbs off last fall. Three of the floats had gas in them. I bought a set of CHINA junk ones for $30. The gismo that ties the two floats together with the tab in the middle was made different. The floats kept sticking :pain10: so I bought four new OEM ones. $200 shipped.

Sorry guys, no spare parts in the creek. She fired right up and hit on all cylinders and very responsive to quick blips of the throttle.

Tried clicking it in gear and it died with the clutch release, not even letting a bit of power to the wheel. 20260409_181906.jpg

BTW, the site on my phone appears to be working really nicely. Good job brothers.

wires are right. https://www.zl-oa.com/community/threads/clutch-safety-switch.25655/#post-257819
