Soldering a throttle cable?

So I was trying to get my zl to idle better and unfortunately the cable broke under the grip. I was sereously thinking about maybe using a bicycle cable or souldering it. Any ideas?

You will seriously regret this decision when you are 30 miles from your home, at 9 O'clock at night and your "repair" fails... Buy a new one, it is one of the cheapest items to replace- you'll be sorry if you don't!

Jim is right - buy a cable. Solder will not hold.

Specially when you want to 'snap' the throttle for quick pickup...
