HELLO!
well i have a zl 900 that was recently brought to me by a friend. i tuned the carbs and replace the gskts.
i went to start it up (been sittting for a while). and noticed the temperature light always stays on . I ran it for a few minutes to see if it would cut off but to no avail. Its got plenty of coolant. no leaks at all. HELP!

Sounds like a defective sending unit or the wire coming from it to the light is grounded to the frame. Try disconnecting the sending unit 1st and see what happens.

I forgot to say it is the one on the thermostat housing which is under the fuel tank on the left side of the frame. Of the 2 sensors, it is the one towards the front.

Mine flickered on and I cleaned and dielectric greased the connectors....there inside the headlight bucket...you might as well do this to all connectors. I have had it flicker maybe 3 times since. Otherwise, I believe you may have your answer from previous posts.

THANKS GUYS! i was fiddling around with the sending unit and noticed one of the wire was about a thread away from being tightened...i tightened it and it is working great now. THANKS!
