Today's Weather

Yeah I see were you guys in KY and TENN are getting Hammered.....stay safe brothers! But still not as bad as the east coast got hit!!!!
 
Got so much snow that my son and I jumped off the roof after shoveling and raking it! Not very good for my back, but figured what the hell because I don't recall the last time I had snow up over my front steps like this.
 
It sounds pretty bad. Once, a long time ago when I was living in Louisville, it snowed 8 inches & pretty much shut the town down for a week.
I would tell you what the weather was like today in Nor-Cal, but that would just be cruel.
 
:hello: No snow or rain here. It is to be 80* this Sun. We have only seen snow once I think it was Dec 1987. It only covered the windshields of the cars & such.
 
Yeah, south of me as well, thank goodness. Looks like winter is going to hang on to the very last second this year........Later.
 
Must be nice to be R.J. We got hit with this latest system - ends sometime today I think - 3-6 inches of wonderful snow again, we broke a 130 year old record for cold temps the other day, negative 20 or so with the windchill...........Not much relief or any end in sight..............Later.
 


Awake from a long winter nap. Needs a good wash but she fired right up and purrs like a cat. An angry cat that needs to tear something up....
 
Jarney I feel your pain, in fact experienced it first hand last Saturday when I rented a cargo van and tripped in to the white light fantastic literally as I drove head first in to a blizzard in lower Michigan / northern Indiana area in search of a ZL1000. I first went to see the guy in southern Michigan to see the two ZL's there and was unimpressed so I pushed on to beautiful Wakarusa IN and found a nice ZLK which I bought and promptly loaded in to the van, it was a white knuckle adventure totaling 541 miles and 12 hours and now my blizzard child sits under cover frozen in time. I would give my left nut maybe both for Florida weather right now.
 
:hello: I worked outside & in the garage all day today. I had to go in the house at around 10 AM & put on shorts to be more comfortable. It hit 75 today & tomorrow it is to be 82.

:hello: I remember as a kid in the 70s I would shovel snow from peoples driveways for $2.00. In the fall I would charge $4.00 to shovel 6 to 8 tons of house coal into peoples basements for coal burning stoves & furnaces. The snow was easier but the coal I only had to do once. The coldest that we have seen here in Central FL was Christmas Eve & Christmas night was in 1987 it went down to 17* both nights. We even lost power both days.
 
Hard to believe Alaska is happiest. The people I see on "Alaska State Troopers" are drunk and poor.
 
It's the Alaskan lifestyle. Yes winter can be cold, dark and long, but summer is 20 hours of daylight with 4 hours of dusk. It's also about the government, they stay out of your business. They pay residents yearly due to oil reserves, in 2014 it was $1800+ per citizen. It's mostly unpopulated, fishing and hunting there is world class, and I will say moose is very tasty, better than any elk or deer I have had and I have had a lot. I went salmon fishing there a couple of years back, the smallest king I took home was 34#, the biggest was 45#, 70# is not that uncommon. I would recommend visiting, seems like a whole 'nother world sometimes.
 
I watch the reality TV shows about Alaska and sometimes wish my life was more simple, I am poor resale shop owner and see shops all around me going under, I am hanging on by a thread and live under poverty level, buy sell and barter for my pleasure vehicles. Cannot complain except for the one thing not under my control and that is winter weather, only reason I stay in WI is my better half is caring for her Mother who recently took residence at assisted living where she works so she gets to see Mother more than ever but wrong way, my folks are long gone and if not for that I would not be in WI guaranteed. Could be working on the bike right now :sad:
