Hey guys and Gals Start making plans for next summer!

Dates announced for 2011 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

<HR>11/10/2010

The AMA is pleased to announce the 2011 dates for the country's premier annual celebration of motorcycling heritage. AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will take place next year on July 22-24, 2011, at the world-class Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
The 20th Annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days features classic motorcycles of all makes and styles, and honors the riders who made them famous. Activities include the AMA Racing Vintage Grand Championships, which feature road racing, motocross, hare scrambles, trials and dirt track; North America's largest motorcycle swap meet; bike shows and awards; a Marque of the Year display that showcases the history of a unique brand; a Grand Marshal; a new-product vendor midway; stunt shows; demo rides of current production bikes; and seminars on a number of topics by noted motorcycling experts.
"For many motorcyclists, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is the premier event of their riding seasons," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "As we've seen over the years, the appeal of this event goes beyond classic motorcycle collectors and strict vintage competitors. Motorcyclists of all eras are drawn to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, brought together by their common love of all things motorcycling."
Tickets will go on sale Monday Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m., and begin at $20 per day or $35 for the weekend. Please visit www.midohio.com or call 800-MID-OHIO (643-6446) for more information or to order tickets.
"We are proud to be the host site of this excellent event for the 17th year," said Michelle Trueman Gajoch, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School. "It will be a phenomenal time for the motorcycle crowd as racing, the swap meet, seminars and more will capture their attention throughout the weekend. This year will be a special one as Mid-Ohio celebrates its 50th Season of Racing, giving fans another historic reason to attend AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days."
All proceeds from AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days benefit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. The goal of the Museum, located on the campus of the American Motorcyclist Association in Pickerington, Ohio, is to tell the stories and preserve the history of motorcycling's legends and heroes. For more information, call (614) 856-2222, or visit the Museum's website at MotorcycleMuseum.org.

I've sent a request to dragway42 to see if they will schedule another test-n-tune Sunday on the same weekend. This past summers track day was a blast and I'm hoping to do it again next summer!

As long as I'm in country... I'll definitely go this year! Sounds like a ton of fun. I'll work on finding a sweet young thing to add as an accessory for that ride, lol

While you're at it, tell dragway to pave their stinkin' track - smoothly!!!!!! - hahaha. Later.

OHHH YEA! We will be there again!

Here's the response from owner of Dragway 42:

Mark, thanks for the note. I will definitely keep that in mind when we finalize our schedule for next year. It should be posted on our website around January 1st.

Thanks,

Interesting!! That is the same week that I was considering going to a Moto Rally, 18th - 22nd, at the Brookside Campgrounds in Catskill NY. In order to attend both, the Rally and VMD, I would have to trailer my bikes. They are not use to that. Not sure about the scheduled events at the Rally but it seems doable!!

175 miles from Townsend, Ma to Catskill, NY
575 miles from Catskill to Lexington.

At this point not knowing my work schedule, I would have to say my attendance is tentative but heavily leaning on doing it all. I would love that. Also need to work my parents into this equation. Have a few ideas.

IDK...The road to hell is paved with good intentions.....

I've got it on my calander!
I can't wait!! Maybe this time I'll get to ride with you guys-farther than the Phuckin gas station!!!:rotf:

Yes, its marked on my schedule cant wait to see all of you guys again, hopefully we can get a buch of zl's on the track again!

I'm ready, also had a seat redone for my son for Christmas. A nice lady is running a shop out of her son's garage and did it for me dirt cheap. I have pictures of it in my album.

That re-done seat doesn't look too bad at all, especially for the price.
Your daughter is lovely.
Our daughter turns only 20 mos old tomorrow, but wow, she's growing fast.
I also like the family choice of bike and cars.
Your Eli is nearly identical to mine, right down to the Avon Venoms.
I've had too much on my plate to make past VMD's, but who knows for 2011.
Would love to meet you all and give ZLMark a "thank you" handshake.

I have to say im very dissapointed to announce Dragway42 does not have a test n tune scheduled for the 24th. They may drop one of their july dates but i wont know for several months.
Meanwhile i will check with thompson dragway and norwalk to see what they have going on that sunday.

that sucks !!! hopefully one of the other tracks will be able to accomidate (i know, spelled wrong):laughing7:

Well now this is interesting....My Cousin (?) (my aunts kid) is getting married on the day before M/O of all the **** days, they are all in Missouri...not a huge ordeal except heres the clincher. He moved his wedding up because his mom (my Aunt) has been fighting cancer and it hasn't been looking very good. Shes been fighting it for a long time and I think she's plain tired and I don't know what will happen after this event. I was planning on going to see her on this very special occasion......I have a dilemma.
