Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD) 2011

Markus....I am bringing my trailer over to the campsite and park it. I am gonna sleep on a cot inside...I can get more cots and you are welcome to it...Won't have any TV, but most other stuff is available. I will probably bring a fan and some portable lighting, etc....

Markus56 - I may be interested in splitting with you, but won't know until closer to time to go due to work. I split a cabin last year with bacchus and wissler - luckily they had an open spot in the cabin. later.

I'm gonna' see if they have anymore cabins and we'll go from there. Thanks for the offer Bill.......I may need that as a back-up plan.:laughing7: Does anybody know what they have left?

I guess I was kinda ignorant to the campground and I never realized there were cabins. I thought it was just campsites....I figure all I need to do is just sleep there each nght....and kinda rough it....

I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make it, but looks like there's a fair chance.
If I do make it out there, can I just bring my tent and plop it down on somebody's cabin site? I'd be more than glad to pitch in some cash toward the site rental.

Does the campground allow tent camping like this?
And, would anyone be willing to let me set up a tent on their lot?

Just show up, and we will take care of ya! :rr:

Thanks Mark & 1Year!

I really want to come out. You guys are all top notch and it would be worth the trip just to say thanks, shake your hands, and have a few drinks with y'all. Already got the okay from my wife and I'll miss a few games for the softball & baseball teams I coach, but really just a work thing at this point. Should know for sure a good month in advance. I'll make sure to pack several bottles of my homemade wine if I make the trip! :rr:

I've got a cabin reserved and the only ones in it at this time is me and Jarney. These things sleep 5 I'm told so if anyone else wants to go in with us, PM me and let me know. I'm paying $60 a night so individuals would be 20 per night or less, depending on how many of us are in it. This is supposed to be the closest one to the group of campsites of the club.

The one Bacchus, Wissler and I stayed in only had 3 beds and I think a small table - might've been able to get 2 on the floor in sleeping bags but that would've been tough. But the cabin we were in was quite a ways away from the guys that were camping so you may have gotten a different cabin Markus56. Sounds good though either way. Later.

Talked with the owner of Dragway42. Their schedule is now final. The only available Test n Tune will be Friday the 22nd. I think we can swing it! The only thing I'm concerned about is leaving the club space empty Friday night. If I'm not mistaken the track opens on Fridays at 6pm and can be busy that night.
has a decision been made on this ? if so, is anyone will a small trailer able to haul Eleanor to Dragway 42 for me, so i can leave big trailer at club space, & so i don't have to fight the crowds, trying to get trailer back onto club space ?

I was planning on riding but maybe i can trailer our bikes. You definitely wont be taking your trailer because we won't be able to get back in that night

sounds good to me either way, just trying to plan ahead. did'nt know about the plan to ride to track. i'm good with that .

was just thinking this morning, VMD's is getting closer, & i'm going to start puting a list together, of things to bring along that we may need.

any suggestions ? & who is bringing BBQ grill this year ? etc. etc.
in addition to what i normally bring, ( motorcycle lift table, tools, chairs, & so on )
i will be loading some wood in back of dually this year ( for camp fire ) is there anything else you need on my end ?

If anyone needs accomadations for the weekend, I have a cabin reserved that has at least one bunk not spoken for yet and will sleep more than that I'm sure. B.Y.O.D.........:)

I reserved spot #141 just in case! Will be having two possibly 3 other people with me so wanted to make sure we (the ZL nation) had enough room for everyone! :headbang:

I plan on bringing my weber charcoal grill to the track with plenty of charcoal. It seemed that the usual day was to get breakfast out somewhere and then get to the track. usually we have burgers and chicken to throw on the grill to eat mid-day. Dinner was usually out somewhere that we would stop when we went out for a ride. Remember guys the track closes down in the evenings and it is locked up so we all have to leave. In the past we have went out for a ride/beer and maybe met up somewhere for dinner. I will be bringing tools with me as well as quite a few others will have tools and some parts...I am just sayin this for the newbies who come out this year...ofcourse I am up for any way anybody wants to do things....

Just had an idea for the Dragracing night at VMD. Have everyone who is interested in running chip in $10 or so and run our own heads up Qualifying and Eliminations! Winner takes all! :headbang:

Whats the matter? are ya CHICKEN! :laughing7:

well, if that saying is true, ( " you are what you eat " ) & since i had chicken for dinner last night ! LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

once i get a feel for the track, & bike, i may be in for that !

I would be throwing my money away at the track. It's the only track I know of with speed bumps - hahahaha. Later.

run it as a bracket race so everyone has a chance mark !

for those that dont know bracket racing means you state your time before racing and closest to the mark wins....its all about predicting your perfomance rather than fastest quarter mile.

you could split the pot between fastest quarter, and bracket winner ....
