Well they do accordinng to Dragtimes.com !!!

We got two times posted from two members with ZL1000's and not one member with a ZL900, whats a matter?? you guys scared???

The challange has been issued !

I double dog dare you ZL900 guys to put it to the test and get some times posted. Lets see whare the rubber meets the road at wide open throttle how these bad ass bikes compare

If you havnt run the 1/4 mile before dont hesitate to give it a try it is an awesome good time, and you dont have to be a pro rider to do it !

C'mon you ZL900 guys need to represent, otherwise the ZL1000 will be declaired the king of the ZL series.

Pleeeeaaaassseeee! Needs to be stock I assume. Won't be my current ZL as she is babied, nurtured and carressed daily. No abuses for her.... Hmmmmm but you did "double dog dare" Hmmmmm

Stock or not my ZL can spank your ZL !

nanana na na

check out my bike pic's mine is babied too !!

Besides, I triple dog dare you !!

Right now it would need to be ice drags...

Too late, it's been declared, enthroned, confirmed, and etched in stone. The ZL1000 rules!

okay, i'll join in here !

i don't have time slips, as of yet !, but if we get set up with some drag strip time, during m/o at the local drag strip, we'll see if you 1k guys can step up ! spank my 900???? we'll see soon ! CHRIS :cool10:

i believe seeing in person, is better than talking off a piece of paper ! :stir: CHRIS

You'll have to wait until spring. It's a balmy 26* this morning and the local strip closes down about mid September. Having ridden them both in stock form, the 9 is a tad quicker but not enough to make much of a difference. It's going to come down to the rider.

See if its the rider (and I believe it is) then you would need to have 1 rider do both bikes.

I for one will not be launching my bike at anywhere near what it should and can be launched at. I know they were designed fo rthis and can usually handle it, it is still a 2 decade old bike and is still hard on the old girls.

OMG !!!!

Listen to the ZL900's makin' excuses !!!!!!!!!!!
"Track is frozen" "mine is babied" "magazine says zl900" "It might break" "mid ohio" "bike is too old" "Its the rider" PLEAAAAAASSE !

Trust me it wont break, I ran my ZL1000 fourteen times in one night. Yours will be just fine ! They didnt make the ZL's out of tin foil and paper !

I guess the 900's are all about looking agressive. You guys like to look all fast but when it comes down doing anything with it ........
you guys cant really think you can take the ZL1000
900cc naaaaahhh are you guys gonna peddle to get caught up or what !

I understand that you back east guys cant run in the snow and Ice. Out here in phoenix we've got alot of great riding weather all winter long.

any one up to a mid winter shoot out in phoenix??
It would be a great place to have a mid winter rally, get your bikes out of the snow, and settle this matter.

what say you ZL900 freaks??
Ill pay the track fee for any ZL900 that can beat me !!

Oh Elimax........Ive got my ovaltine!

what are you trying to say mark???

I thought it was funny. Everyone knows that the zl900 is the original "Eliminator" and the 87 zl1000 wasn't worthy of the shiny chrome decals us zl900 owners all have. Kawasaki Krazy was just stating facts that he knows since he is "Kawasaki Krazy" and a "zl1000" owner.

Sadly my friend, even though I have a 1000, The 900 has been proven to be quicker off the mark than the 1000............but still worth the race though.

who's whining ? i'm not !!!!!
you do know that the 85-86 zl900's were one of the first bikes to be put on the insurance blacklist back in the 80's, because of their performance ? that is why kawasaki stopped production of the zl900 ! & in 87 they brought the zl1000 out. slightly detuned (stock) & a more rider friendly appearance ( cruiser).

i'm not nocking the zl1000, coz i love all zl's, but if you wanna talk trash about the zl900, i say, come to m/o & bring $$$$$

i know my bike, & what she's capleble of. i just dont think who's got the faster bike really matters, but i will defend my zl900, & my fello bro's with 900's ! :bringiton: CHRIS :cool10:

Let me add this, when I get a 900 that I will modify , It will be very entertaining fo ryou. I have competed at nearly every motor sport known to mankind and have usually been at or near the national level in every sport. Most of knowledge is contained in building and tuning motors and chassis. I am a whore for knowledge and experimentation. I believe I have answered some of your technical questions, When you have attained a measure of my knowledge and technical abiites you may critique me. I will put my built stuff against anybodies in the nation. Be patient your time will come to try a 900 gone through by me. I am in no way patting myself on the back or saying I know it all. but my record speaks fo ritself.

This bike will be kept in a collectable condition.8

Next spring I'll drag mine and post the times. They'll probably be slower though as it will be my first ever try at it
