Black vinyl Dye?

Anyone ever try vht black vinyl dye on a faded seat? I have an old suzuki gt750 and the seat is excellent except it black color is slightly"chauky". Only dilema I have is whether to use the satin or glossy. Feedback??

Is there an area you can test first?
can you overlap one on top of the other, such as apply the satin and if it doesn't look right, then try the glossy?

Personally I think the glossy would be the better match. unless there was a semi-gloss available somewheres.

I have not tried the vht,but I have used PPG dye.You spray it with a gun.It works great.I did try some stuff that came in a rattle can(several yrs ago),on a nova back seat.It looked good till somebody sat in it.It just pealed off.

I'm actually thing satin finish. Gloss may look too fake. Don't know. I could always call up VHT. But my luck, I'll get some clown who'll just shoot me any answer.
