Today's Weather

The town I work in already canceled school for tomorrow. 30 degrees and snowing pretty heavy right now here. Gonna drop this afternoon to -14 by the morning...happy happy joy joy..
 
Sunny day again. Going to take a short bike ride & get back in time to watch the Niners / Packers game.
I would think that the extreme cold in Green Bay would favor the Pack.

:hello: Martin did you take that pic of the snow. Well today will be the last day I ride my ZL. It is 68* as of now. Tonight it is to go down to 26* with a wind chill of 16*. I will have to turn on my heat for the first time in a year & cover my water softener. I already have all my outside pipes warped with insulation. I had a pipe bust in 1989. That year on Xmas eve & Xmas day we only had a high of 23* & a low of 17* for both days. We even had snow stick to the wind shields of are vehicles. Friday it will be back in the 80s.

Willie, pretty balmy here right now. Had some freezing rain go through last evening. supposed to go to -6 or so tonight with a high of 1 tomorrow.

Beautiful day here in Lebanon Indiana , -13 outside ATM with a wind chill about -41 ....... county's all in red around us so it looks like a day off work ...... or i could brave it
 
Artic Vortex rolled through Texas last night. Temp is 16f degrees. The only danger is that dry air increases static electricity. Zapped the wife when I kissed her good bye... :laughing7:
 
I drove into work this morning...Roads were pretty bad but I made it with 4wd...Right now the air temp says -16. Nobody else is coming in today so I will be alone here until 12:30 pm...As long as we don't get any significant drifting they should hopefully catch up with the plows...Wind is howling pretty good from what I can see outside the shop...I have my tahoe in the warehouse so it's toasty for the drive home...Martin, have you guys dodged the snow pretty much this year. Up until now we havent had any major...We probably got at least 16-18" here in the last couple days...

Dodged it somewhat Bill. There have been three storms that headed my way so far with the first two splitting around 50/60 miles west of me and in doing so they went north and south of me. The third one did not go around and put down about eight inches. There have been a few smaller snow falls and some ice here and there but certainly could have been worse to date. You can't throw it back so you have to accept whatever falls from the sky.

Pics like that make me smile, cuz it is not me! I have not started my snowblower since changing the oil in Nov.

I can handle the cold, have a nice heated garage...screw the snow!!

:hello: Stupid FL weather. I went to lunch on the ZL at noon at 72*. Rode the long way out around Lake Monroe. Went to Osteen Diner. Came out & it was only 50*. Had to ride home in the cold.
 
Seriously....you're complaining about a measly 20° drop into the 50s? :rotf: It's not "Florida weather" BTW :no-no-no:... The whole nation is in the middle of the biggest cold wave in 20 years! Hang in there...I'm sure it will be back in the 70s in a day or two...:pk::laughing7:
 
:hello: At 90% humidity 50 feels like 30. I guess I'm getting old. Maybe it is that I have been in FL for 30 years & my blood is just now thinning. :laughing7: Friday it is to be 80*. :laughing7: (SUCKERS) I only had on a tank top. That 45 minute ride home felt more like 3 hours.

I was just yankin yer chain...50's pretty dang chilly on a bike, if you're not used to it!
 
Pretty normal here. About 30 at night, mid 40's in the afternoon. Less than normal snow in the mountains. Usually ski resorts open late November to mid December. They hardly have enough snow to operate. Hope everyone stays warm and safe. And RJ, if it was 50's here, I would be out riding.....in a t shirt. :)
