Today's Weather

72 degrees here in Lexington yesterday, all the snow is melted and we actually had a tornado in the area last night, no major damage though. They're calling for snow next week again though!!!!

sunny and warm here in Cen. Cali. I have a few things to do around the house then I think the wife and I will take a little ride this afternoon.
We really need some rain out here and they are saying we might get some next week. I think I need to wash the cage's and the bike's maybe that would get it to rain...LOL

Past two days were the first time in months I didn't needed 4 wheel drive to get out of the driveway. Still a ton of snow piled up just sitting around. Today is the last "normal temp" day (above freezing) then they say the next 16 days will be back to 10 - 20 degrees below normal with snow here and there. At least the majority of the snow is gone. Four days ago when we had the ice come through, I came home from work that morning and someone had slid off the road, down into my drive/yard and into my tree - I have a big pine tree in the middle of my driveway. There were broken branches and ruts and footprints in the snow all around the driveway - no major damage done thank goodness - whoever it was, was gone by the time I got home. Man, this has been a rough winter.....

:hello: My family in Central PA told me this is the most snow that they have had since the 70s. My Nephew in the Johnstown area measured 43 inches in his back yard. His sister lives on the top of Swiggel Mt. Rd. in Mineral Point says she had even more. My Nephew Paul said the snow drifts was almost to the top of his one out building which has 10 foot walls. We here in Central FL at times this winter have set record highs several times. Average temp for January was around 78*.

It's 50 or so degrees out and I just got done shoveling the rest of the snow off the driveway - I could have almost put shorts on today while shoveling - hahahaha. Later.

And now we're back to sub zero temps way below normal - preparing for another blast of snow - some 10 inches or so expected Sunday night with ice just south of me - it's never going to end............yippee.............Later.

Yes Jarney, We're supposed to get significant ice here Sunday and then some snow on top of it.

I was in Minneapolis area for most of the week. I think it was like -15 yesterday morning. I keep waiting for it too warm up to 50. I hope to have the bike done soon. Took the seat to be reupholstered and the tins to the painter today. Should be getting some other parts in the next week or two. So it can stay cold for a while yet. But it would be nice if it got at least into the 30's so I can get the garage warmed up into the 50's.

:hello: In just 6 weeks you all may be done with the snow. Then the Mid West will flood & buy June temps will be triple digits. We very rarely see temps in the 100s but with the heat index are temps feel like 105* for 8 or 9 months. The humidity is worse. At 95% it feels like it is raining. When riding early morning or late afternoon your clothing gets wet from the high humidity.

:hello: Man, I'm sorry guys for always ragging on you all about this sucky weather you all are having. Even my brother Mike is getting sick of it. He has always loved Winters.

No worries, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence - when you can get past the snow and actually SEE the grass - hahahaha. With what they are forecasting, it will be may or june before I get to do any riding. You're right RJ, by the time this cold and snow is over, it will then probably flood and everyone will be behind on yard work - it will take me a month just to get the trees that are down cut up and get the mess cleaned up then get the mowers ready, then the heat and humidity will hit us like a ton of bricks all at once and we'll be back to wishing for cooler temps - I'm hoping for a drought this summer - hahahaha. It's difficult not to complain about it even though there's nothing we can do about it - except move..........hahaha. I'll be shoveling and moving snow all day tomorrow and probably monday too.....ugh, I'm getting too old for this........Later.

:hello: It is to be 81* today. Sorry for that. I won't be riding for awhile. I got banged up a bit right before dark. I went down on my dirt bike. First time in years. Some one got stuck on the power line & I ended up in a big hole that they made with what looked like 38" super swampers. I told the guy about it. Looked to me that he did it on purpose. He dug 2 big holes in 2 wheel drive & locked it in then creeped out.

Its is a bit chlly here today, -11F. The wind is not too strong so probably only about -20 or so wind chill.

Shawn and I rode the sleds yesterday, just ditch banging. Im going to have to break down and buy a winter helmet and snow Bibs. I bout froze the side of my face cuz I had to have my helmet lens open to keep my glasses from fogging. The Carhardt bibs are great for blowing snow but fall a bit short doing 70mph in neg deg weather...Crap, boots too....it never ends....haha Shawn ended the day getting some good air, and then breaking ff his bars on the (not too soft) landing. Told him I would throw away the 3" bar risers but what do i know right?

Anyway, now I get to go fire up the snowblower,,, we got around 6" of fluffy stuff yesterday and I need a spot to put it,,,,RJ, bend over!

YAY! a good friend drove his tractor and blower over while I was gone yesterday and opened up my driveway and turn around spot in front of the garage. That is a HUGE thing when the wind starts filling snow in. It will probably cut my snow removal time in half for the rest of the season! More time to play on the sleds! OH, and no sub zero temps in the 10 day forcast!:headbang::headbang:
