Ultrasonic Cleaner

No, there is no bleach in it. It works really well. IMG_20150922_183608749.jpg. Yes I use heat. I need to learn the appearance part of the process. I think it is Glass Bead but not sure. Maybe oldskool will reveal the tip for the shiny carb bodies.

:hello: While I tried pine-sol & a half a dozen other cleaners. None was better than what I already tried. I'm doing research on other products & found one supplier that has an agent that they say makes aluminum shine. It runs $57 a gallon & you need to use 8 ozs. per gallon of water. I don't want to buy it & it not do as they say.

I didn't try anything other than that 5 gallon bucket of ultrasonic cleaner, then went to pine-sol cuz so many people said it gave them good results. I gave a little over a hundred bucks for the 5 gallon bucket. It sucks to spend that kind of money and not be satisfied in the end.

:hello: These 4 are from LA Totally Awesome. They all performed about the same. I get them from the Dollar Tree for a buck a piece.

:hello: So has anyone else used a ultrasonic cleaner & or know of someone who might know what to use for cleaning parts to make them shine. I really do not want to spend $60 or more on the wrong product. And yes I sent Rick a PM but he did not respond. Also he read this thread & visited my profile.

I put a post on this thread as well about him piping in and hinting about the shiny bodies after cleaning. I put in this post as well about Glass Bead Blasting. I don't think the shiny bodies come from ultrasonic cleaning alone but I could be wrong. One does not get to the point of what Rick's carbs look like by just doing it once or getting pointers from others so I don't know what else to say. I searched and searched before I ask questions cuz I don't like to be spoon fed but when I can't find a definitive answer I ask................

i have not found a solution that will shine them,, they come out dull but clean.. really don't want to give away too much but the solution will clean but not shine unless they are in shiny condition to start with

...............don't think I want to know what kind of buffing your doing......................:hiding:

:hello: I'd like to know if buffing them would you do them assembled (each carb) or not. How would you go about getting in all those nooks & crannies. Still seems to me they would not get the same tint/shine all the way around.

Just like you said RJ. They aren't buffed because you can't get in all the right areas. It is a form of blasting I would say... I can't beli he that no one will give any pointers on the shiny bodies.....like they couldn't have any carb rebuilds to do after answering the question,........wtf.

This was with just my buffing wheel and not with the Dremel !!! Not really worth it! SOOO the mysteries continue on the shiny bodies !!????!!!

:hello: I do not think it is blasting media. One form of blasting material that comes to mind is ground up walnut shells. That may work. It is the finest/softest media that I know of. I'll ask my powder coat guy to see if he knows. He won't mind giving some input.
