I generally reuse all the rubber gaskets for valve adjustment, only replaced plug well gaskets and big gasket once and the cover gets taken off annually. As for $ at the event, it can be done on the cheap but it is one of the largest motorcycle swap meets in the USA. shopping can get expensive.

Yup, Markus56 has bailed a lot of us out with his parts bins!
I have reused my valve cover gasket for probably half dozen adjustments BUT, I always have one handy for the OHH SH*T!

I keep an extra timing cover gasket around (left side when sitting on bike). I prefer to turn the motor with a wrench instead of bumping it with the starter. I managed to re-use that gasket as well but only if it came off in one piece.

Wow, swapmeet huh? First I've heard about this. Does anybody ever set up and sell anything? I've got tons of parts, not just ZL stuff, but VMAX and V65 parts I could throw in the trailer and take up there to make a few bucks. What's it cost to rent a space?

The swap meet is HUGE! I would guess 60 acres or so, Its an all day task to walk through it!
Not sure of the cost of a spot, check VMD website.

. Inevidably, you can never have 'everything' you'll wind up needing and that's where I come in at. I always bring containers full of parts for those 'emergency' situations that arise when you get something apart and discover something broken or worn out. Hard to say how many times I've bailed out somebody in need of something. ZL-OA membership does have it's advantages!!
Yes the man is like a rolling ZL parts warehouse!!! He help alot of us at Buds house including me

you can buy tickets in advance, or when you arrive there. as far as racing ? if you have racing license for any of the catagorys of racing events, & bike suitable for those catagory's then i see no reason why you could'nt.

It Is a huge event with vintage bikes going around the road course (even sidecars), dirt action nearby, trials, manufacturer test rides, swap meet and bike show. There is more going on than one can take in in one weekend. I can't wait to hang with the members I met last year and meet a bunch of you that plan to attend this year. Especially can't wait for the group ride.

Just received confirmation from the AMA that the ZL-OA club space registration for the 2013 event has been secured. I requested that our location be in the same general area as last year and please do not put us on the grassy area with the slope as this would create problems for our trailers and mobile work shop.

You mentioned about camp sight #s & that the camp ground does not open up until March. Do you know if it is possible to see if they can correlate us all in the same area if we tell them that we are with ZL-OA. This would maybe be a good idea if it is at all possible. Thanks. R. J.

Yes they do but I would strongly suggest that when making your reservations that you remind them of the zl-oa group. When the time comes I or someone else will post up the camp site numbers that have been used in the past.
