Muscle Bike Wars 2010 is going to be awesome!
BTW, I just saw Texas's chart and speaking as an owner of that Honda VF1000R clicking off a 10.8??? I have to raise the B.S. flag on that one too. I got owned by a ZX900 ninja on that bike after three attempts with newby rider that I know.:thefinger: Although my 85 FJ1100 only lost to a ,thats right....an 86 1000r ninja, which I purchased that following month! Just more examples of the game!

Come on. Even an educated guy like yourself can see that doesn't make sense. A stock 1986 kawi 1000R can't do better than a 10.9 and its putting out 123HP and weighs 40 lbs less. Its also way more aerodynamic and has a chain drive. I have said in the past that the middle eighties (especially 84-85) best times were contracted to 130 lb Jay Gleason with bikes that were tuned for maximum acceleration (ie strapped front forks, suspension tweaking and tire pressure adjustments ) so that the manufacturers could squeeze out 3-4 more tenths out of their flagship bikes. hell, I even remember an ad for the Suzuki 1150 with a 10.4 quarter mile! my high 10 second FJ1100 never lost to that bike. And I tip the scales at 240! That V65 may sneak into the 10's but I doubt if you or I will ever see one do it. realistically, I remember that bike doing an 11.2 or something like that. And I was extremely impressed with that time. Just my observation, sir. Check out a real test report on (what was then) a very fast bike: http://motorbikearchives.com/Bike-Tests/Road-and-Street/Kawasaki-Ninja-1000R-1986.htmlJohn-The archives also has your Honda Turbo in there. Enjoy: http://motorbikearchives.com/Bike-Tests/Road-and-Street/Honda-CX500-Turbo-1981.html

Why wait?? Go to the track and run your honda and prove it to yourself now rather than waiting till summer for me to make you look like a fool at the strip.![]()
I only mentioned it because I know you own one and found the article interesting. I would love to get my hands on a 1983-1986 Suzuki XN85 Turbo. The rarest, nicest looking and one of the quickest factory turbo's ever built.
What's the rush? I've got 6 months to practice, not to mention lose 65 lbs to get me under 200! Trust me, I'll be making some runs on the V65 in the very near future, and I'll post timeslips when I get them, I will have to check the local tracks but the only 2 I'm familar with are 1/8 mile ones. I have only drag raced on a track a few times (with a 69 Camaro), so launching a bike hard on the strip is something I will have to work on. I've done it on the street a few zillion times, so I think I'm capable, just be patient grasshopper. All will be decided in due time...........and like I said, win or lose. Nobody is going to be a fool, I'm going to be happy if we can just pull this off and have a good showing of people from around the country, from all the different muscle bike forums!!!!!
I guess one would say I need a better vocabulary and to learn how to spell!I only mentioned it because I know you own one and found the article interesting. I would love to get my hands on a 1983-1986 Suzuki XN85 Turbo. The rarest, nicest looking and one of the quicker factory turbo's ever built.
