What's fastest? Lets see how long..

I agree,,, keep it clean so this discussion will continue and be settled at the track.
So why then do you bring it up in a different thread? It was just a friggin' joke, some of you guys need to get over yourselves. I am going to work hard to make Muscle Bike Wars 2010 a reality, then I'm going to kick all of your asses and send you home with your tails between your legs! I will let my riding skills and bikes speak for themselves, and if any of you punks want to take a shot at the ZL speedo cop, you'll have your chance to put up or shut up!

 i agree waltstar my ZL1K lights up a lot quicker with the streigh thru turnout exhasts fitted than it did with the power chamber and stock pipes

but im contenplating changing my cams to gpz 1000 rx (zx1000a) cams i have toyed with a tomcat head but as has been pointed out the carbs sit to high and will hit the frame as soon as i can get the valve lift spec then i may change them to get more fuel in

gentlemen..how are you doing..i had the chance to ride a v65 sabre in conn this past summer...the bike suprised me by the way it pulled and its torque..its definetly faster top end than my zl 900 stock,,but the zl 900 i believe would be faster in the quarter mile.. yesterday i raced a yamaha warrior 1700 cc bike from light to light and won...v twins and v fours just do not spool up as fast as inline four cylinders.....when i had a zx9,,i did 10 . 97 in the quarter mile..at 128 mph..as i remember cycle worlds pro rider did 10.47 in 1994 ., the year that bike came out..at that time..these numbers were very impressive for out of the box 1 liter bikes...and the zx9 felt way way faster than my stock zl and the v65 for that matter...just wanted to convey my thoughts on at least some of what you guys were talking about...thx brett

Hang in there buddy, you'll get it right sooner or later :rotf:

Everytime I see that i never fail to wet my pants with laughter. That second one is just as funny with the spectator going down as the icing on the cake. great stuff, mark :notworthy:

hey again guys..for me,,,im just really happy with the zl900..i believe that all the jap bike manufactureres were making great bikes in the 80 s,,just like in todays era all the bikes coming out from the big four our fantastic..the reliability today i believe is a bit better,,but the bikes that the members here own are just as great in their own way...i myself love the smoothness of the inline four,,hell im having as much fun or maybe even more on my zl than i did on my zx9..i just cant recall ever seeing one back in the day when i lived in ct in the early 80 s..i was familiar with all the kz s and gpz s,,i even had a 1983 gpz 550..i just dont remember the eliminator,,the first time i ever saw one was on cycle trader this past summer..that was when i decided to buy one,,,i am definetly much more of a seasoned canyon rider..i really havent had much experience drag racing...but seeing you guys talk about which bikes are faster reminds me of talking with my friends back then ..we had fun thinking we all knew which bike was better..so i think its cool that you guys are out there putting your machines on the drag strip..im sure in the days and months to come,,ill have my share of light to light drags with other bikes,,and i will look foward to telling you guys how i did....brett

Have you determined if the head will even bolt on?
The intakes could probably be modified if you really want to do it.

So true. Its funny how in the 80's cars really sucked , but they were the golden years for many bikes. I always bring that up when I get engrossed with bench racing!:headbang:
