Vapor lock or something else?

I'm open to suggestions. Has anyone been able to totally disassemble the gas cap? My bike dies after about 10 to 15 minutes of riding and ite frustrating as hell. After it stalls out it will start up about 5 minutes later. I work at a Honda kawasaki dealer in blairsville, ga and the service manager seems to thinks its vapor lock but I haven't been able to get it into our shop. I don't think the floats are getting stuck could it be over heating? I'm real leary of riding a long distance because of the stalling problem. Don't have any money to let the service guys look at until I sell my house. Any Ideas?

When you open the gas lid (ZL9), the vent for the cap is the cone shaped thingy, offset from the caps underside. There is also a tank vent tube on the right side (opposite of the petcock). It has been known that these may clog, or the tube itself kinked or even melted shut. Generally, if you have a vaporlock issue, as soon as the engine dies, you should be able to open the gas cap, and hear a hiss of pressure relief. Once the pressure evens out, it would start right away (unless you are having problems with the supply line itself).

Also, check to see if the vacuum hose to the petcock is not becoming kinked from heat, as if this hose is blocked, then there is no vacuum to make the petcock flow fuel.

I would say Tim Allen for sure, he's a big motorhead. Then maybe Travolta, i'm sure between the pelvic thrusts of Saturday Night Fever and Greased Lightning he learned to carve the twisties somewhere

Wild Hogs, just seen it today.. Good movie and funny. One part, if anyone seen it, they had the sound effects dead wrong, jackasses. Who saw the movie so far?

I just got back from seeing Wild Hogs and I have to say it was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. I was all ready to hate it but I really couldn't stop laughing. William H. Macy steals the show and John C. McGinley is hilarious as the gay highway patrolman.

Same here. Just got back a few minutes ago. William H. Macy is hilarious! I know which effect your talking about Mark, actually I counted about three or four, but still a good film for a laugh.
