Saw an Idiot Today

I was riding on a two lane highway today when another bike was coming from the other way, When we met he was leaning back with his feet on the bars....NO HANDS, NO HELMET, waving & smiling.
I suppose the Darwin thing catches up with guys like that.

Seen a guy while out today had a Boulevard.

Had riding pants and jacket, leather, with the S logo and color stripes, full face halmet same paint scheme, gloves and all it was 80 today and he looked nice and hot.

The dealer saw him coming.

There is also the road rash xtreme's. Sport bike with shorts, shoes not even socks and no shirt, and baseball hat. Young dumb and not enough experience, too much speed for them.

I saw a thread here one day about a buzzing noise from the radiator area between 2&3 grand and cant find it now. Now that I have my bike running it makes this sound. Can someone tell me the fix or a link to that thread pleeeeeeease.

For some people (like me) it's the fan. Others get a buzzing from the gas cap.

I've been wondering about that too, my bike does the same thing, a vibration around 2,000 - 3,000 rpm, I just put it down to a quirk of the bike.

I think mine's the fan shroud, I'm not sure, but it's coming from that general direction, but I'm use to it now.

Unfortunatly mine is not the rad cap ( I wish it was). I'm going to have to find a way to simulate the noise without racking the throttle every time so I can get in there and find the culprit, somewhere around the radiator or shroud. I need to order a bunch of small parts so I guess I will also get and bushings for the rad as well. It does seem to me that there must be some vibration sent out my the engine at that RPM range, I'm guessing the engine would have to be removed to replace any isolators thay are designed to keep vibration down.

I replaced all the shroud and radiator bushings, made it a little better but not totally gone.

buzzing noise

I had a buzzing from the front of my 1000, it ended up being the kawasaki nameplate between the forks, one strip of self stick foam on the back of it got rid of the buzz, hope this helps

Like gosupes says, for some (me) the noise comes from my petrol cap vibrating against the tank between 2,500 - 3,500 or so rpms. I've tried a couple of things but I haven't managed to completely clear it yet. It gets louder as the tank gets emptier.

I used to get a vibration on my gas cap, very annoying!
I took the gas cap apart and cleaned everything, still vibrated! I took it apart again and stretched the spring to give it a little more pressure, still vibrated but not as bad. Finally I blew the vent pipe clear with compressed air and WALA, no more vibration!

I found the source of this buzz. I hear it on mine especially since i have the quiet pipes on now. I could have it make the noise while sitting still by revving the engine up to 7k and let off, as the rpm's come back down I'd hear the buzz from the radiator area as it passes 2700 rpm.
With the fan motor sitting on the bench I can pull the fan shaft in and out and it makes noise almost like an old oil can bottom popping. I'm gonna grease it all up and slip a shim under the "e" clip to take up some of the play. I will let you all know how this works!

Buzzing

I had the same gas cap buzzing, and like ACP, It got louder (and I got more annoyed) as the tank got emptier. I put several pieces of weatherstripping under the gas cap hinge, even stacked it 2 thick in spots. Takes two hands to push cap down hard enough to latch, but it's been silent for over a year.

Lets see, gas cap, ring around headlight, ring around tach, ticking from left side of motor, rattle from clutch area, name it and it makes a noise.

My gas cap used to buzz/vibrate, VERY annoying! I think it was totally caused by the vent tube not "venting" enough. I used my air compressor and rubber tipped air gun, blew a ton of chit into the tank when I cleared it but it KILLED the buzz!

I had heard it was the fan, but I changed mine to a Vance and Hines aluminum one and it changed NOTHING....I am looking at you Mr. Gascap...
