:hello: Helmets are not required in FL, but you have to carry a minimum of $10,000 of insurance. If not you are DOA/SOL. I ride 95% of the time with a Helmet. That other 5% does bother me. Stats shows that you are more likely to get in a accident within 2 1/2 miles of your home. Only because you spend more time in that area than anywhere else. It cracks me up when the Harley brothers who ride Harley s say that a Helmet impairs there vision & hearing. The only thing that impairs them is there loud disturbing pipes with all that shaking going on & all the bars they stop when they ride. The one got rear ended after coming out of a bar after making a U turn on the top of a blind hill. When they pull out they ride so slow that I always have that fear of getting plowed into. So I pretty much do not ride with them. They are very boring to ride with anyway.

In N.C. you must wear a helmet and eye protection. I wear a full face on the ZL. I wear a outlaw shorty when i ride the Vulcan 88 or the Voyager.

C Tut.....do you know Gary Busey?

I know OF Gary Busey...and actually I've met one of his brothers at a MMA gym in Texas. Why do you ask scooby? By chance do you jest at not wearing a helmet can result in a Busey type behavior :laughing7:?

Oh noees! Does my profile pic look like Gary Busey lol

Lord I hope not...that guy is all jacked up! It is laying sideways...kinda like Busey after he head butted the ground...

In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, helmets are NOT compulsory if you are a licensed rider, however, if you have a permit, there are restrictions 1 of which is, must wear a helmet...having said that boring crap, I wear a flat black open faced squash bucket occasionally, wouldn't want to deprive the world of my natural...ahem...beauty.

moab...

This guy DID NOT wear one......and he IS paying the price for it......
talked to him last weekend at the hd event!!!

years ago maryland didn't have a helmet law so needless to say i was young and felt indestructable and very rarely wore one. then they changed the law and all i wore was a full face but in the summer it was just to hot, now its a half helmet and im so use to it now would probaly feel funny not having it on. kinda wish they would leave it up to the rider but feel i would go back to not wearing it for short rides but know that bad things can happen on those short ones too! i do miss the feeling of the air going thru what little hair i have left on a hot summer day.Dad's motorcycle March 30 2013 017.jpgDad's motorcycle March 30 2013 016.jpg

:hello: Some people that I know do not wear helmets. They say what happens is going to happen & it was meant to happen & you have no control over it. I'm sorry they feel that way. You would think after a person went through a horrible bike accident that they would change there mind. When I went to my friends home & seen him & his girl in bed with really bad scrapes & cuts on there heads & face. Black & blue like someone beat them with base ball bats that they would change there mind about wearing helmets. I could hardly stand to look at them. He just got a new Harley because his was totaled. They still ride with no helmets.

90% of the time I do not wear one...Ocassional half helmet and when it gets cold a full face..
You're rollin' like a young man...my friend. That was me.. in my 20s and 30s.. Have fun...and BE CAREFUL!!!!

Fullface 90% of the time, just bought a HJC IS-2 for really hot weather with built in visor. the fullface is the HJC Symax 2

Here in the Land of All Things Regulated, Helmets are compulsory. Big fines for not wearing one. We even have to wear one on a Bicycle. If you live in Queensland. Ride a Harley and have Tattoo's, you're a contender for a Jail Term.Really lost the plot here.

I have on the odd occasion ridden off without the Helmet but after a while I feel something is different and go back to get it.
Damn....Old age. At least i still remember where I live.

Always. I've seen too many guys with road rash on their face. Not a good look. I wear leather and gloves/boots as well. My brother went down on the expressway in shorts and a tee shirt. Scar less healing works but holy **** is it painful.

My brother was soaked in a salt water jacuzzi every three days and had over 40% of his body scrubbed down. Even on morphine he'd pass put from the pain. Better to be hot and sweaty than going though that torture.

:hello: I have to many helmets. They range from $500 down to $70. Of course the Shoei being the most expensive & the Built being the least expensive. I rode today with a few friends. My go to helmet is the digital camo IICON which was $275.
