Letter to Kawasaki

You think that until you 'feel' some modern brakes in action.

I could'nt believe the waves when I took that 1st ride on
the 12 w/them.
Incredible,I knew they would be better but still surprised me.

I don't think the connie is tall at all. In fact I know from the triple tree to the bottom of the tire apex is 3 ft or less.Throw on a set of lower bars and it should be fine. I will go down to my nephews kawi dealership today. They have an 08 connie on the floor. Either way, I seriously believe you can use that platform.

It's too tall where the "tank" would be.
It would'nt resemble a ZL.

The actual tank reservoir wouldn't be directly over the airbox. Just like the concourse, the cosmetic front of the tank goes directly over the top of the airbox and the fuel reservoir would be behind & under the subframe. that subframe could even be altered if needed. No biggie. Even the Vmax's fuel tank isn't in the appearing fuel tank. The point is to utilize as much of the available production parts as possible to make this as cost effective to Kawasaki as well as the consumer. This platform would be an excellent start.

wow! zloa motor corp has been formed !

hey mark,
what bike is that rolling chassis that you uploaded the picture of??

"Doesnt Suzuki buy just certain parts from Kawi, rebadge then put the stuff on their bikes?"

Kawasaki is also Heavy Industries and makes parts and tools for many other companies.

Yes, the Marauder was released as an 800cc v-twin for a few years, they did make a 1500 or 1600 Marauder for 1 year as well.
moab...

I know the original Suzuki Marauder of the mid eighties had nothing to do with Kawasaki.

In the early 2000's they did a joint venture and the Mean Streak and Marauder were the same bike. If you google them you will find a lot of info

I did hear about the meanstreak having a suzuki brother, I just didn't know that they rekindled the Marauder name.

I tried to post a link to an article about it but I had brainlock and couldn't get it to work. So, if yer really interested you will have to go googlin'

so... what kind of horse power shall our specs establish?

more importantly what shall be the spec power to weight ratio be?

as far as the post about single sided vs. classic swingarm design, Im happy with the classic look but, thats not to say that a realy cool lookin bike with a single sided wouldnt change my mind ....quickly. Id have to see it to belive

I will say that the "modern" set up is single sided with mono shock. I belive this is the best performance suspension set up, and may be what people want to see..... idunno

They just rebadged a few models.
Some they did minor body changes to.
The '04 VZ1600 is actually a M/S.
I bought one and converted it back to the way it should be with
M/S bodywork.

what about ram air or scoops??

I know when I had my 'max torn down I pulled the scoops off and held one up on the zl just to see what it might look like if the zl's had them....

well... scoops do say "Im a baddass" definately could be done and look meaner than f*k

zub, I think you are right. Maybe an upgraded engine, but it it needs to remain an I-4 900. Sorry 1000 guys. Take a look at all the new bikes.None of them match the ZL 900
