New Tools

My last vise is probably 50yo. Swap meet find. People usually know the value of an old one and there's rarely a screaming deal out there.

:hello: I have seen a lot of old vices at the farmers market near me. I always thought that they wanted to much money for them. Most was to small for what I use mine for.

Used the new pressure washer, the swirlygig tip wasn't too kind to the decals on the BX. The machine itself works well for what it is. It completely shuts off water flow when you let go of the trigger and no drips from the connections or the innards of the unit. Pretty well satisfied.

:hello: I had 3 electric power washers all from Lowes. They all burned up. Luckily I bought their 3 year extended warrenty on each one. Each time I took one back I up graded to a better one. So I read the manuals. It stated not to use them for no more than an hour at a time. I ended up buying a gas powered 3300 PSI Troybuilt. They was on sale for $100 off at XMAS time. I got it for free because I got 3 LOWES gift cards for XMAS that year. (20012) and Lowes credited me for the electric pressure washer. The Troybuilt starts on the first or second pull. I always run the tank dry after every use. Also I always use ethanol free fuel in all my yard equipment. At our home we have city water ($30 a month) and the pressure is always between 70 and 80 PSI.

I use stabilized E10 from a sealed container in my power equipment. I also run them empty after each use. The fuel stays good for well over a year. Never had a problem with E10 in anything.

:hello: Here in FL E 10 can go bad in as little as 2 weeks because of the high heat while sitting in a shed that is well over 110* inside. When I had the 3 electric power washers when running them for hours on end they would shut down. They would have to sit for an hour or so before they would start back up. Each time that they would shut off they would run for a shorter time. That got aggravating. I called the manufacturer. They told me that they were not ment to be used for long periods of time.

Holy crap on that price. It's been awhile now, but my very similar vise set me back thirty bucks. I don't think it'll open that far though, more like 8 inches.

Added some quality to my arsenal. Craigslist find $80 apiece, I think I did pretty good.
Bluepoint double flare setup
Blue point 3/8" drive impact
Snap on air chisel with bits

I used my helpers DeWalt impact driver when I did the garage ceiling. World's better than my Ryobi.

New trouble light for Christmas helping this old man see, outlet in the handle and long cord. Very very bright, don't look into the business end unless you want to be blind for 1/2 hour.

:hello: Nice!!! No such thing as too much light. I'm thinking about mounting four four foot LED lights in the foor of my shed pointing up. :laughing7:.

My buddy was a detailer and his garage had lights on the walls about 3' off the floor. I think your shed has plenty of lighting.
