They are doing a reassessment county wide out here.

Wonder how they will handle all the things that people didn’t bother to get permits for that they find.

:hello: I know here in FL if the City finds out that you didn't pull a permit they just make you pull one. If your building or what have you doesn't meet code you need to bring it up to code or take it down.

Wonder if they will buy the “ it’s a emergency replacement, the wife ran into the old one with the car”.

Hey, it was like that when I got here or I replaced it in kind.:)

:hello: All's the City has to do is pull up Google Earth and they could go back ten years or so to see what has changed on your property for each year.

That would involve a city worker and a four letter word...WORK... doubt that's going to happen.

:hello: My Son Jared and I put new denso iridium spark plugs in my Wifes Toyota RAV 4. 107 K miles. The plugs cost $120. We had to remove the top intake plenum. Time spent 1.5 hrs. We bought her 2011 RAV Sept. 7, 2012. It cost around 25 K OTD. We have had no problems in 12 years. 20240907_152230[1].jpg 20240907_152339[1].jpg 20240907_152630[1].jpg 20240907_152521[1].jpg 20240907_154102[1].jpg 20240907_154128[1].jpg 20240907_161737[1].jpg 20240907_153003[1].jpg 20240907_153244[1].jpg 20240907_161418[1].jpg 20240907_165234[1].jpg .

I’ve been redoing the structure for our sunroom and deck that were here when we bought the house. I tried to talk the boss out of this house just because of how crappy this thing was. Obviously I lost. IMG_1080.jpeg IMG_2095.jpeg IMG_2094.jpeg I’ve done everything myself so far with the exception of standing up the 3 middle support posts.

Looks like better construction than the new home for my truck. Had to put it on cinder blocks because the door wasn't tall enough for the truck. Probably will never roll that front down, crew cab + 6.5' bed fills the depth. 25% off because Harbor Freight missed me.PXL_20240909_222016737.jpg

I should clarify that the “finished “ photo is what I have begun replacing. It was built, let’s just say, not to my standards.
3” deep piers and then posts encased into concrete on top of that. No joist hangers, everything hanging on nails with no way of preventing structure pulling away from the house. No continuity of support posts from ground up to the sunroom, posts from lower deck to sunroom were just sitting on the decking.
I’m waiting on some more Sonotube to arrive before I tear out that last support by the stairs which will be removed at the same time.
At that time, I will start replacing the entire lower deck, but that probably won’t really get under way until next year. I will at least feel comfortable that the sunroom won’t be going anywhere

No hangers!o_O
That needed corrected for sure, it's a lot of work. Hats off to ya.
Timbertek makes some nice product if you are still figuring out the decking.

:hello: I picked up a set of new LED trailer lights for $10 at a yard sale. Also a new set of 7100 lb 35 inch long 3/8" thick links trailer to hitch chians made by FITHOIST from Amazon. $31 shipped over night. I had to cut off some links from the two chains so they wouldn't drag on the ground. 20240922_083220[1].jpg 20240922_083212[1].jpg 20240922_102311[1].jpg 20240922_102257[1].jpg 20240922_083241[1].jpg 20240922_100932[1].jpg 20240922_093632[1].jpg 20240922_102232[1].jpg 20240922_102223[1].jpg 20240922_104856[1].jpg 20240922_105709[1].jpg 20241001_100907[1].jpg

I've always just twisted chains to keep them from dragging. TSC is high on lots of things but at least they carry it if needed immediately.

:hello:
Saturday I put new flat free tires on my TROY BILT generator. I replaced the 4 rim spacers, 8 bolts nuts and washers with USA made S.S. from ACE Hardware. Over time the OEM hardware rusts. It has been 20 years since I've bought the TROY BILT. I've had no problems with it. It's been used in 9 Hurricans. I also put flat free tires on my hand truck. I bought both sets of flat free tires/rims from AMAZON. $20 shipped for each set. 20241019_160344[1].jpg 20241019_164651[1].jpg 20241019_151520[1].jpg 20241019_161152[1].jpg 20241019_164324[1].jpg 20241019_163955[1].jpg 20241019_164020[1].jpg 20241019_151510[1].jpg

:hello: I had knee surgery done on my left knee on Sept. 30th. Sitting around bored wasn't cutting it so I redone all 6 0f our wall clocks with new clockset components. Some of them quit working altogether and the rest was losing time. The Bill Elliott clocks glass was cracked so I replaced it with lexan. For a 12"x 12"x 1/4" sheet was $8.00 shipped from Amazon. I bought all the clock parts from Holly Lobby. $77. Time spent was around 7 hours.20241017_101833~2[1].jpg 20241101_162002[1].jpg 20241018_122406[1].jpg 20241018_122355[1].jpg 20241018_122859~2[1].jpg20241017_100702~2[1].jpg 20241019_150345[1].jpg20241031_105916[1].jpg 20241031_112212[1].jpg 20241017_101419~2[1].jpg 20241017_101355[1].jpg 20241017_101320[1].jpg 20241101_160349[1].jpg 20241017_101249[1].jpg 20241017_101307[1].jpg 20241017_110215~2[1].jpg 20241017_104422~2[1].jpg 20241017_104053~2[1].jpg20241101_160349[1].jpg

Digging the Steelers bottle cap. Does that regulator chime?

Speedy recovery!

:hello: On the Steelers bottle cap I made it into a clock and used a sharpie to put the numbers on it. The only clock that chimes is the one in the second to the last pic. I'm now walking without crutches and had the stiches removed last week.
