Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD) 2013

Re: Vmd 2013

What does a AMA member ship cost now & how much is a 3 day pass & when do you have to get it. Thanks R. J.

I think the AMA membership is $39.00 per year. If you do an automatic renewal you can get roadside assistance for any vehicle you own and for any family member still at home. As for the 3 day pass it is $45.00 for Friday, Saturday & Sunday and is available thru the AMA on a pre purchase 'till May 27. You can always buy your tickets at the track although not at discounted rates.

:hello: That's not bad. Last time I belonged to the AMA it was $12 a year & a life membership was $75. So did them there camp grounds open yet & I will not simmer down.

Re: Vmd 2013

with members getting either bikes or parts shipped from long distances recently, the vmd would be a good spot to exchange big part items for whoever attends. :occasion1: fyi: i only seen one spot in the entire swap meet (2012) that had a few zl9/1k parts and they were not desirable ones.

:hello: Some one bring horn cover, starter & rear rim for ZL 1000.

Re: Vmd 2013

On a different note...as some of you may remember, I rode to VMD from Rochester NY for a day visit a few years ago. It looks as though I may be doing this again, but if I can stay a night...anyone got a spot, cot, or some flat ground available? I know it's kind of late to ask, but my schedule require "seat of the pants" decisions. Thanks.:notworthy::notworthy:

Re: Vmd 2013

Mark, one or two people have made hotel reservations and no one else that I know of. The camp ground is not open yet. I called the other day and left a message and no return call as of yet. So to answer your question, I don't think anyone has any room or ground space available yet.

Re: Vmd 2013

:hello: What is the dead line for the 3 day pass in order to get a discount for AMA members. The only person that I know that booked a room was Alan C. I think it was at the Comfort Inn & I think they now have no vacancy. Do most people do the camping thing.

R.J., the deadline is May 27 to get the discount from the AMA.

Re: Vmd 2013

Camp ground is now open for reservations. Made mine today. I will be in spot #142. If any others call for reservations make sure to ask for something in that area. The spots that are close or nearby are 129, 143, 128, 141. Price is $102.00 plus tax for Thursday night 'till Sunday morning.
Phone number is: 419-886-2267 (Lake Timberland Campground)

Re: Vmd 2013

Let's try posting this in the right YEAR.......

I just ordered my weekend pass for VMD this year, just a reminder that Friday May 3rd is the deadline for the discounted pricing this year. If you plan on going, save yourself $10 and get your tickets before Friday....
I tried calling the campground and got the answering machine, I know Furchin said they had been open so I will try calling back until they answer.

Re: Vmd 2013

Right this second, I am very seriously thinking of riding to my parents house in Fairport Harbor Ohio and then making a day trip to VMD. Not sure which day would be best so some advise here would be appreciated. I was thinking Saturday. If there is an excursion to a Drag Strip, I would love to see what I could do.

Re: Vmd 2013

Saturday would be the day to go if you are just going to do one day. Depending on weather, etc. Sunday is usually a "tear it down/pack it up" day. Friday's aren't bad, but there are usually stragglers not there yet - there's a lot to see - difficult to do in just one day - depending on your interests - most guys spend most of their time just hanging out with and meeting other members from this site that shows up. I used to do the one day trip also - riding over on the zl9 from Indiana, then started trucking over for the weekend. Later.

Re: Vmd 2013

idea !!! a few of us have thought about this, but no definite plans as of yet, so i thought i would post this to get other's thoughts...if anyone else would like to tagg along i'm thinking of making road trip sometime during the weekend to go visit our Brother ZLMark for a few prayers, & maybe some conversation with members about good times we have all shared with, & because of Mark's dedication & vision of ZL-OA. it would make a great group ride in honor of our Brother.

That was certainly my intent sometime during the event Chris but yeah, going as a group would be nice too. I'm cool with the consenses of the group.
