Water pump rebuilding service.

1986-2003 VOYAGER water pumps are very much like the ZL 900/1000 pump. The shaft seems to be longer and it appears that they take the 32 mm ceramic mechanical seal. I have six OEM ones in stock. Also the bearings most likely the same as the ZL9/10. 1986 to 2000 water pump part # 49044-1056. The 2001 to 2003 pump part # 49044-1082. I think one is black and the other one is silver. Both from KAWASAKI/PARTZILLA are $303 each. _____________________________________________________________________________________

About four years ago I rebuilt a 1200 Voyagers water pump. They do take the same bearings as the ZLs.

I did some more research on water pumps. The ZX 10/ZX 11/ZRX 1100/ZRX 1200R water pumps look very much like the ZL 9/10 pumps. Looks to me the pumps cover could be swapped out. Does anyone know someone who might have a ZX 10/ZX 11/ZRX 1100/ZRX 1200R water pump.

MARKUS: This is the PEAK antifreeze that I use in my ZLs. I get it at ACE Hardware. It cost $10 a gallon. I get it at cost for $5 a gal.

My oldest Son bought the PEAK while I was in PA and used his B-day discount coupon but the regular price is $10 a gal and the owner of our ACE Hardware gives me $5.00 off. She also gives me at cost on all AMSOIL oils. For some reason AUTO ZONE want $21.95 for this type of PEAK.

MARKUS: I got your pumps apart. On all three the bearing that rests next to the ceramic mechanical seal is bad but the outter ones are good. Do you want me to replace both bearings in each pump. I'm also doing another ZL pump for a guy from IN that MADMAN knows. Worst pump I've ever seen. The shaft is even wore out by 2 mm. I'm doing all four at the same time. I'll keep his separated from yours. I have a doner pump to rebuild for the guy from IN.

Use your discretion on replacing the bearings. Are they not something you normally replace when rebuilding a pump? I know the Voyager pump felt very tight like the bearing was bad. Just make them reliable R.J., whatever that takes.

I just finished taking five water pumps apart. I have the shafts soaking in EVAPORUST. I'll leave them soak over night. I tried to upload four pics and only one went through. I sent ZL MARKY a PM weeks ago. His responce was I don't have time to look into anything. . . . It takes about 3 minutes to up load a pic. One would not load at all.

I removed the water pumps shafts and propellers from the EVAPORUST. I polished them with SEMICROME polish. I'd post up pics but they won't load!!! . . . Does this ZL MARKY character have a phone number!!!
