Post up your ideas for the "New Eliminator" here, when I have a bunch I will compose a letter to Kawasaki from the site....Can't hurt.

moab...

MEET THE MONSTER-- KAWASAKI "DOMINATOR" ZL

market positioning-- top of the line high performance cruiser\urban assault vehice

1. use that new 1400cc I4 like to connie and zx or specially developed v4
2. retune for max streetable performance\ launch power, or set up with a\b tuning selector like the b-king to switch between top end power and a max streetable power. call it the street\strip mode button
3. maintain cruser\naked streetfighter styling consistint with the classic eliminators that is "modifyable" by end user to alter bikes appearance to either sport or cruser style (this is a big reason why the classic vmax was a long term success) I feel that this was over looked in the new max design and creates an opportunity to capture the market share of the cruser 'max crowd.
4. radials stock!!!
5 maintain classic slash cut exhaust look w\ more agressive exhaust note, 4-2, and full flow exhaust
6. comes with a ***** on the back ....stock your choice blonde, brunette, or red head
7. stainless lines ...stock
8. wave rotors...stock
9 up grade caliphers to 4 or 6 piston
10. fuel injected
11. a comfortable seat with serious style, a nice seat makes the bike! optional two up or solo seat arrangements.
12. must be able to perform as a "strip warrior" and consistantly run in the low 11's to mid 10's by non pro rider
13. must dominate all crusers and threaten even the best sport bikes
14. DEEP discount for current zl owners!
15. MSRP not to exceede 12k
16. customizeable on show room floor, different handle bars, seat, color, chrome items, forward controlls etc... it just makes good sense for the seller if the buyer can up fit the bike and write it into the loan at time of purchase.
17. 5 gal fuel capaity
18. 200+ mile range min.
19. 200 or better rear tire
20. performance guage package with large tach & programable shift light stock
21. full featured on board trip computer
22. agressively styled appearance that says ------"hi Im a badass, would you like your beating now?"
23. gas guage
24. 500 lbs or less dry weight
25. light weight wheels
26. inverted front forks
27. two bikes in lineup 1100 & 1400cc one high performance cruser one streetfighter \ cruser
28. modern classic style...... no space bikes like the b-king !!! this should be a street bike not a lunar vehicle
29. seat height 2" lower than originals
30. shaft drive

Good list Bacchus! Lets not forget at least a 200 series rear tire (any bigger would require a modded swing arm & higher cost) Also a drag style big ole Tach & speedo (I love the Vmax shift light!) And personally I love the "Eliminator" insignia. It proclaims its intention!

Just make sure in the letter you state several times, 1400cc inline 4 or V4, NOT I repeat NOT a V TWIN!!!!!!!!! Otherwise we will end up with a Voyager tradgedy!

Great idea. Bacchus NO ‘V’. Give me inline…..

I like the style of the cartoon model. Imagine this beast for real with 2008 technology.

i personally think there should be nothing new, they should just start making them again!

Lots of good ideas. In addition to the ZL1400, how about a new ZL900 too, with a slightly larger tank and FI, oh, and a gas gauge please? LOL.

Oh, and make them in America, because it needs the jobs.

I agree....No V4.....Looking like a bunch of Johnny-Come-Latelys.....Inline 4, at least 1400 cc and built for extreme domination....In fact EXTREME ELIMINATION!!!

I4 - at least 1000cc (remember, bigger = heavier)
500 lbs or less
beefy upside-down fork
4-2 exhaust
modern brake calipers (4 or 6 piston)
lightweight wheels
fat back tire, little front
customizable (single/double seat, removable backrest, fly screen or very small fairing)
decent fuel capacity
big tach, little speedo
small, barely noticeable radiator

All for now.

Same crappy '85 era brakes?

well you know what he means :P

i would also personally like to see them almost exactly the same. obvioulsy better brakes/suspension comes by default. and i'm sure kawa can squeeze out more hp per cc by now, so i would be happy with the same line up of 400/600/750/900/1000.

i would really love it if they just kept it the same, dont try to "futurise" the old ZL.

I dont want fancy electronics such as a/b switches! Fuel injection and keep it simple!
the only real fancy electronics should be the addition of a oil pressure gauge and temp guage.
If you want less power use less throttle!
NO v-4 engine an I-4 is what I crave for use the zx14
whats wrong with the eliminator name give it back the pride and recognition it deserves and who cares that it has a little brother if your running a 1400cc monster. Besides it will look better next to our old 900 in our garage during the long winter.

Right - the newest ZX10 puts out like 160 hp. That's a plenty, but with the emphasis of lighter and lighter for the sportbikes, I'm not sure how robust it would be. I'd rather have an older proven design like the ZX/ZRX 1100 if it would be more reliable/bulletproof.

While we're dreaming, how about a 900 AND a 1400?
