The reasons for the cart/cage/craddle is when I had the 1991 compressor it had a recall on it. They had 11K units out of 100K units tanks rupture. My wife wanted me to get rid of it. I told her the cage will stop anything from flying around. LOL. The biggest reason is I don't have any wall space for the compressor. Also I've used it at some job sites. I'd just roll it up on my trailer. Also I made a fifty foot extension cord for the compressor. It plugs into a 240 VAC outlet.
