Thanks, This is my first laminate floor installation. I watched about 4 hours of how to videos & got advice from 4 other people before starting. I staggered each row of planks 8 inches. I ended up with about 10 board ft of scrap & 2 wrong cuts. Today is paint touch up day & hopefully do the base board & door moldings. After that we will be putting all the furniture back. Then onto a plane to go to Central PA.
It will be around 3 weeks before I go to PA. Might be longer.
I installed the base board Thursday & paint touch up Friday. Installed plate covers today. I enjoy doing remodeling. It seems like it takes longer than it used to. The biggest/hardest thing was grinding down the concrete where the old porch was. I had to level it & blend it into the addition. I spent 4 days on that. Filled the shop vac 3 times with concrete dust & that does not count what the fans blew out the windows.
My wife & I blew all are income tax money on the house. I bought 105 cases of the same laminate flooring. We are going to do all 4 bedrooms, hall, living room & dinning room with it. It cost $3850. The rest we spent on a new sectional for our family room. We also are going to paint the out side of the house in April. First we had to replace 3 sheets of T 111 on the South side of the house. I am the boss boy. My wife is the manager. My son's & his friends are the grunts. Also my wife just got her 5th week of vacation for 25 years at her Company so she will be helping.
I started redoing are 3 bathrooms. Stared first with my Mother-In-Laws. Installed a 32 inch pocket door. Tore up the old tile. Moved the closet from inside the bathroom to the hall. I had to relocate switches & outlets. In addition I ran 350 feet of new electrical wiring & 4 more 15 amp breakers. For the life of me I can't rotate pics anymore.
Installed handy cap rails in our master bedroom bath so when I install the new tile & toilet in my Mother-In-Laws bath room she has ours to use. I put 4x4 blocks of wood behind the drywall to support the rails.
SOB!!! I dropped my new wall mount sink this morning. $140 down the drain. I had to open up the wall & put studs in for the sink location. Then put the dry wall back & remud it. Now I have to wait 8 more days for another sink. The damn think just slipped out of my hands.
Missing to many parts.

Before I left Lowes with it I had them remove it from the box so I could make sure it was OK. Even if I did not open it you would of known that it was broke by just picking it up & putting in the back of the truck.
I installed a Utilitech ext fan/light/heater in my other 2 bathrooms as I did the master bathroom. I bought them at Lowes. They cost $90 each. I built boxes around them in the attic so that the insulation does not catch on fire when using the heater.
