Remodeling

Most carpentry work revolves around 90, 45, 22 1/2 & 11 1/4 angle's. I spent Friday & yesterday morning painting the inside of my shed & hanging my stihl equipment on the back wall. I also hung my hunting gear that includes 4 climbing stands & 2 deer dragging sleds. I hug my oars & trolley motor also. I made 5 shelves 2 on each side walls for motorcycle parts & spare house needs. The shelve above the door is for my stihl chain saw.

Looks nice RJ good job! Better cover up back window so no one can see in, thieves don't care what it is if they can make some $$$ off it.....and I see $$$ in yours.....

Thanks, I'm planning on putting one way tint on the window. I also cleared all the under brush from around the shed & within 100 ft of it. Now I can see the shed from my bedroom sliding glass door. It is about a 70 yard shot with my deer rifle. Everything in the shed would cost me nearly 2.5 K to replace. Once my Grizzly 4x4 is in it would bring it to around 8 K to replace all the sheds contents. The outside light gives just enough brightness to see whats going on at night. I also dropped a big oak this past February that was dying. What a shame it was my nicest tree.

I spent yesterday going threw bike parts & other things tossing somethings in the trash or returning stuff at Lows & Home Depot. I boxed everything else. Labeled boxes & put them in the shed along with my Grizzly 4x4. Now everything is in it's place. I still have some bike parts & more hunting gear to hag on the walls. I just need to go in the attic to dig the stuff out.

I spent yesterday digging a 280 foot trench a foot deep so I can run power underground to my shed. I'm also going to put a light on a 10 foot tall post. I got half of the electrical line burred. I ran 12-3 wire threw gray plastic conduit. I also set a 12 foot tall pressure treated 4x4. I set it 2 feet deep & poured 100 lbs. of concrete.

RJ, how do you like the Sthil modular system? I've been on the fence on that one but cleaning up leaves takes hours and hours for me and I was thinking a backpack blower (600) is the way to go for me. I will also be using the blower for powder snow removal off a gravel drive and the big backpack has winter start features.

Run some tv type/coax/cable tv (I forget what it's called) wires while you are at it - that way if you want to put some cameras up to keep an eye on your stuff in the future, it's already there. Later.

The blower attachment works great. I've used my friends back unit & mine works just as good. Also I can get closer to the ground with the weed eater set up. To late for coaxial cable (good idea) I have most of the ditch filled in. Should be done tonight.

Last night I finished running the romex in the gray conduit pipe & filling in the trench. I also added a 8 foot copper grounding rod for the breaker box in the shed.

This morning I made all the electrical connections to the breaker boxes & hooked up all the light fixtures. Everything works. I also installed a light above my house numbers. I got tired of the pizza man driving up & down our street letting the pizza get cold. I also had to install a new copper grounding rod for the house. The 30 year old steel one was rusting away.

Thank's markus. I can't sit still or sleep for that matter. I still get up at 5 AM. I have 105 boxes of laminate flooring to put down & 40 boxes of ceramic tile. Also I still need to finish painting the outside of my house & one end gable to replace. I might get done by the end of this year. Also 4 more bikes to rebuild.

Markus I may need some input on installing my new bathroom fixtures. All's I have left to do is the faucet assembly. I was going to go in from the back side in order not to have to disturb the ceramic tile. I'm going to finish it Sat morning.

That's a decent faucet and you're right to go in from the back side but be very careful with what you cut the hole in the tile with. They make tile saw bits just for that job.

Thank's. The shower already has one. I'm just upgrading to the new unit that has the regular so that someone doesn't get scalded by hot water. My question is should I take that black square gismo off before soldering & when soldering the bottom joint how is the solder going to flow up hill. Does the flux draw it up. Do I really need that plastic box.

Yes, the black plastic box is there for the leave out for the tile man. Since you're the tile man, you won't need it since you're making your own hole. I see a small rubber or plastic grommet inside the body on the one pic......take that outta' there before you solder on it. The heat will draw the solder in the joint, not the flux. The flux just keeps the joint from oxidizing while it's being heated. You don't have to make a square hole.....a round one will do as long as you're centered on the body. Lots easier to make a round hole verses a square one.
