Sorry I never saw this response. Once I have these bikes fired back up, I will see if they are leaking coolant but I don’t think they are. I believe they are just leaking oil. You said that it should be the seal on the end of the shaft? Which part number is that one?

I’m going to keep reading this entire thread to see if you ever located the 35mm seal.

. Run your bike before doing anything. If the water pump just leaks oil. Then just replace the oil seal. Also check the propeller for play. Put the pump in a vice. Rotate the propeller with your fingers to check for tight spots. Then with both hands one on each side of the shaft & try to wiggle it side to side then up & down to check for play. This checks for bad bearing. Most of the time the bearing closest to the propeller wears out. I have all the OEM water pump part #s listed in this thread for a complete overhaul. I have 12 of each OEM part in stock. I also have the size of the oil seal listed.

John I got your water pump done. I'll send it out in the mail tomorrow. The bearings, oil seal and mechanical ceramic seal was really bad.

I had sent my old and busted water pump to RJ. He did super work. Pictures are the water pump before, still on the bike. After the rebuild and all the parts RJ sends with the NEW pump. Getting it all back together now. Will update after riding awhile, doing a few burnouts and a smoky, front wheel raising, holeshot.

My old dog is marking it's spot on the basement floor. I was hoping it was a loose bolt from my oil pan replacement but after some inspection the is oil and a drop of coolant on the bottom water pump bolt. I'm guessing life expectancy is 16-18 years since I replaced it with a new one way back when. Damn, I just did the coolant and all the hoses last year.

Jeff from Minnesota sent me 6 water pumps to rebuild along with a few parts. Two are for Jeff and two are for David. If anyone needs one let me know. I'll rebuild them late this week. I also have 7 more to do. I'm not sure of their location. :laughing7:

I started tearing down some water pumps today. 9 in all. Time spent 3 hours. I have 6 more but I can't find them. I can't find the OEM oil seals that I have in stock either for the ZL 9/10 pumps so I ordered 6 more oil seals from partzilla. 6 is all they had in stock. They will be here late this week.
