I spent yesterday & today installing 7 Utilitech recessed 13 watt = 65 watt LED lighting in 3 closets, master bath shower & 3 in 2 hall ways. They cost $30 for 2. I made my own conduit boxes. The ones that was to be used cost $20 each which are to tall because I have a floor in my attic. I bought 7 gray 6"x6"x4" no hole conduit boxes for $8 each. I left one on all day just to see how hot the heat sinks get. 104* F. So the heat sinks are doing there job in keeping the built in transformer cool.

Almost done with our handy cap bath. Painted it last week & done the tile over this past weekend.

Good job R.J.! I think I could make a real plumber outta' you Brother! LOL I've been doing it professionally for 35 years now so I'm qualified to say you did a good job. I also do tile on the side and that looks good too! Handy you are!

That's 2 things that I'd prefer not do do for a living. It is hard work. Thanks for the complements. I always say I'm a jack of all trades & a master of none except for making & testing weapons of mass destruction.

Finished up touchings such as paint & caulk this morning on our new 2 person Jacuzzi in our master bath. Tubs been in for awhile now. Did the tile Friday & grouted yesterday. I like the old school tile. I think anything bigger looks out of place in such a small area. This tub listed for $1100. I picked it up at Lowes for $300. It was the display unit with a few scratches but I was able to rub them out & it was the last one.

I had to shift to doing outside work for now. I needed to re-roof my shed. It had a metal roof. It had several holes & was rusted. I went with the wave shingle type. I need to use it for more storage. I spent Friday & today on it. I'm going to insulate & side the inside of it. I'm also going to run lights for inside & out along with some outlets.

Between yesterday & today I ruffed in the electrical. Used R13 insulation on the walls & celing. Installed 6 120 volt outlets & 1 GFI outside outlet. I installed 2 light switches one for the outside light & one inside light. I used 1/2 OSB for the inside walls & the ceiling. The shed had 24 to 27 inch on center studs so I added a stud between each existing stud & did the same for the roofs trusses. I also replaced all the rusty hardware on the aluminium siding.

I think he did that so that in the winter when there is snow outside he can be in that nice warm shed like us Indiana guys Mad..

All the work looks real good RJ...I need to post some pics of my last few things I did last summer and this summer..

When it's 95 outside in my metal shed the temp reaches 160*. I know this because I have a oven thermometer in it. I also insulated my garage before the dry wall went up & I paid an extra $100 to have the attic over the garage blown in with insulation. What I can't believe is all you snow Country guys do not insulate your garage & or sheds.

Mine is insulated BIG TIME!! Walls, ceiling, doors, and floor! it can be -25 out side and with just a little k-1 heater after about hour its nice and warm, can wear a t-shirt while working!!! :rr:

Here are some pics. Last July we got water in the basement so I ripped the carpet out and did tile in the family room and my oldest step daughters bedroom. Also repainted the bedroom and new trim and added an overhead light.

After I was done downstairs I did the other daughters room upstairs. She wanted pink and white chevron and tiled the floor.

This summer I did the back deck. Wife wanted a bench so I built it in.

Glad to see someone else post up their handy work. I like how you done this rail with the 45 & 22 1/2 degree angle's. It looks like an arrow pointing up.

Thanks. Those particular stairs I didn't build. The deck was originally 10x10. The decking was shot. I added onto it making it 16x16. I left those particular stairs alone and just covered them with new material. It ended up that those stairs were at a 45 degree angle. My local code requires the hand rail must have a top surface that is contoured or graspable. I ended up finding a cap that was treated and I put it over the 2x4. So originally that 2x4 was just a 45 on each end but when I tried to figure that miter for the cap, it was basically a 135 degree angle making each side cut a 62.5 degree angle. My saw will only go up to 60. I figured if the 2x4 was running at a 45 that a 22.5 would make it parallel to the 2x6 on the actual guard rail. That then made the rear angle a 90. I rounded all of the top 2x6 with my router to give it a soft look and to match the rounded edges of the deck boards. I wrapped the rim joists with deck boards that went up high enough to cover the edges of the decking. The underneath skirting was also a bit of a challenge. I ripped 1x6 in half and beveled the edges to make a shadow line and did the alternating 45 degree angles.
